Pharmacies and medicine

Advertising of pharmacies and medicinal products is restricted in Yandex Direct. This is due to local legal requirements and Yandex policies.

Ads for prescription medicines or medicines containing psychotropic or narcotic substances can't be placed in Yandex Direct.

Medication

Your ads and landing page must meet all legal requirements. For example, your ads must not:

  • Guarantee the results, safety, effectiveness, or lack of side effects of taking the medication.

  • Target minors.

  • Present the results of research as proof of the medication's effectiveness, or interpret research results as a direct recommendation of its use.

  • Present the medication as a food additive or cosmetic product.

  • contain comparisions to other medications with the purpose of enhancing the effect of the ad

  • Contain links to specific cases of people's healing or improvement of their condition as a result of taking the medication.

  • Contain links to therapeutic effects regarding diseases that are resistant or difficult to treat.

  • Give the impression that the consumer does not need to consult with a doctor.

  • Make claims about properties and methods of use that are not included in the instructions for use.

Text ads will automatically have the following notice added: “Contraindications apply. Consult a doctor”. The text of the notice does not depend on the content of the specific ad and cannot be changed. You must add this notice to image ads, video ads, and creatives for display campaigns yourself. Your ads must meet the legal requirements of the countries where you want to serve them.

According to the law “On advertising” and Yandex placement policy, certain documents must be provided.

When to submit documents

You can send documents at any time after your ads have been sent for moderation. If ads are rejected because required documents are missing, they will be reviewed again after documents are submitted. If your ads pass moderation, they will be eligible for serving. If additional information is required, we will contact you.

Required documents

The advertiser must have all the necessary documents for ad placement. The pharmacy's site must specify relevant details matching the data in the license.

If the ad contains no such information or the data in the ad and the official Registry don't match, the documents listed below may be requested:

  • A copy of the registration certificate for the medication.

  • A copy of the manufacturing license for the medication (for those manufactured in Russia).

  • Permission to release a series (batch) of an immunobiological medication into the stream of commerce (for immunobiologicals delivered to the general marketplace after November 29, 2019).

  • A copy of the pharmaceutical license.

In addition to that, you might be requested to provide:

  • A copy of the certificate or declaration of conformity for the medication (for batches released for sale before November 29, 2019).

To advertise the delivery of medicine, for example, using such phrases as “online pharmacy”, “delivery”, “same day”, “order”, or “online order”, you must provide a document confirming permission issued by Roszdravnadzor.

If you advertise medicine delivery by aggregators, also submit a pharmacy's contract with the aggregator for the remote sale of medicine. You don't have to provide an entire contract, but make sure to submit the following clauses: the parties, the subject, the validity period, and the page with signatures. For aggregators that work with partners under an offer, submit a link to the offer.

If you advertise products and services in several categories (for example, medical products and pharmacies), you must provide documents for each of them.
