Lesson 7: Passing moderation
In the previous lessons, we covered the two steps of creating a campaign:
- Setting up an ad campaign.
- Creating an ad group.
Now it’s time to check your materials before you send them for moderation.
In our example, we selected an automatic strategy, so Yandex.Direct will manage our bids to keep them within the set budget. Now is the time to set bids for your keywords yourself if you have decided to use a manual strategy.
Click Next to begin creating your campaigns.
Here you can see the ad group you’ve already prepared. Check it to make sure that everything is correct. If you see areas that need to be changed, click Edit group.
Once you have made any necessary changes, click Send for moderation and confirm that you accept the terms and conditions of the service rules.
- The ad should clearly state what you are advertising: a product, service, seminar, concert, mass media, etc.
- The ad title, sitelinks, callouts, etc. must be written correctly (without typos) in Russian, or in English with a translation provided.
- The keywords must be relevant to the topic of the ad
- The landing page of your site must display correctly in different browsers and be relevant to the ad text.
- If your landing page is in English, this must be indicated by adding “(EN)” to the ad text.
To advertise certain products and services, additional documents must be provided. To see the list of documents required to pass moderation, read the Help section.
Please note that you can send any necessary documents via the feedback form after you send the ad campaign for moderation. If you create a campaign targeting several countries and don’t provide the necessary documents for one of them, this will not prevent your ads from appearing in the other “permitted” countries.
Certain products and services may not be advertised online. An example in Russia would be tobacco products and gambling. Campaigns for prohibited products and services will not pass moderation.
A list of Prohibited categories of goods and services can be found in the Help section.
You will be informed by text message or email about your moderation results (if you enabled notifications in step 2). If your materials are rejected or your impressions are limited, you can find out the reason on the campaign page below the ad text. You can find all the ads that require documents by searching within the campaign and applying the “With legal restrictions” filter.
If you still have questions about rejected ads, click the link “I still don’t understand why my ad has been rejected” and send a message via the feedback form:
- Before you send your ads for moderation, make sure that they meet the requirements for advertising materials.
- If you advertise products or services subject to additional certification or licensing, provide the additional required documents after you send your ads for moderation.
