Optimizing app monetization with geo-based CPM thresholds in Mobile mediation

Mobile app owners can now set different CPM thresholds in Mobile mediation depending on an individual user's geographical location. This means that app owners can flexibly manage the amount they receive for impressions to users from different countries, and thereby more effectively monetize platforms with international audiences.


How it works

Settings minimum CPM thresholds directs the system to automatically select ads with bids higher than the threshold your specify. You have the choice of setting a higher CPM threshold for some countries, or you can completely restrict ad impressions for specific countries by setting the threshold higher than the cost of the most expensive slot. Geo-based CPM thresholds are set separately for each monetizer and app.

How to connect

  1. In the Yandex Advertising Network interface, go to the "Mobile Mediation" tab.
  2. Select the ad slot and click “Set up" next to the desired monetizer.
  3. Go to the "Ad serving area" tab and tick the boxes next to the countries you want to set a threshold for.
  4. Enter the minimum amount that you are willing to accept when providing advertising space for impressions to users from the countries selected. Remember that the thresholds you set in the Mobile Mediation settings should match those in the monetizer's interface.
