Yandex Video Network

Yandex offers advertisers to place “multi roll” — an ad that plays before or after a trailer has been shown, or in other online videos on Video Network ad platforms.

The Video Network includes KinoPoisk, the largest Russian-language film search service, as well as other services incorporated in our media network and YAN partner websites. Yandex determines the percentage of impressions in YAN and the list of ad platforms where a multi roll can be placed.

Available options

Geotargeting for Russian regions
Define which subjects and cities in the Russian Federation are part of your target audience.
Demographic targeting
Use categories like “gender,” “gender and age,” “gender, age, and income level” to filter out users unlikely to be interested in your ads.
Light TV viewers (LTV)
Targeting for users who watch less than 1 hour of TV a day — reach those users unlikely to see your TV ads
Search retargeting
Focus on users with specific Yandex search queries.
Behavioral retargeting
Show ads to users who have previously visited your site or certain Yandex services.
Segments from Yandex.Audience
Targets users from the advertiser’s client base. With the option to expand their reach to segments with similar audiences.
Targeting by user category
Allows you to select an audience with a certain lifestyle, e.g. top managers, travelers or housewives.
Audience interests
Serve ads to users based on their interests.
Device and software targeting
Display your ads on smartphones, on Smart TVs, or on two of these three device types: computers, smartphones, and Smart TVs.
Mobile operating system
Shows ads only on devices with certain operating systems.

General ad creation rules for the Yandex Video Network

Interstitial

Clickable elements can be embedded into ads (such as buttons or logos), making them interactive. In this way the user can interact with your ad: be it a link from a video to an order form, or to show the conditions of a particular deal, or even to a test drive entry form, and so on.

Adding interactive elements to multi roll can be done manually via the Yandex.Display interface. Advertisers can use their own graphics (images from 200×200 px, up to 244 Kb) or select from the prepared set of buttons in Yandex’s own library, which includes social network icons. You can add up to seven elements, each with redirect links.


The Video Network supports VPAID technology and interactive formats that are based on it can be placed at no extra charge.

    A multi roll is a commercial that is played before or after a video has been shown or interrupts the display of this video at any Yandex Video Network platform. The running time of the video commercial is max 30 (thirty) seconds.

    A pre-roll is a commercial that is placed before a video. The running time of the video commercial is max 30 (thirty) seconds.

    An inpage video is a commercial that is played at text pages of Yandex Video Network websites provided that more than 50% of the area of such a video is displayed at the relevant page.

    An interstitial is a commercial that is played in a mobile application before loading the content of the mobile application or when changing the content in an open mobile application.

  2. Advertising materials are placed:
    – at websites of Yandex Media Network and websites of Yandex Advertising Network (YAN) partners;
    – in Smart TV device applications of Yandex Media Network and Yandex Advertising Network (YAN) partners;
    – in mobile applications of Yandex Media Network and Yandex Advertising Network (YAN) partners.
  3. Dynamic placement, frequency is set to the default of RF=3 per day. Frequency can be set as agreed with the advertiser.
  4. Geotargeting – Russian Federation.
  5. Available settings:
    a) Geotargeting on regions of the Russian Federation
    b) Sociodemographic targeting
    c) Light TV viewers.
    d) Search retargeting

  6. Maximum two options listed in cl. 5 may be applied at the same time, one of which being a geographic targeting. For “Fixed CPM. All formats. Mobile + Smart TV.” maximum four options listed in cl. 5 may be applied at the same time, three of which being a geographic targeting, Devices and software targeting and Operating systems.
  7. It is possible to pin a multi roll as a pre-roll (a commercial is placed before an advertising movie trailer is shown) using the multiplier of 1.3.
  8. As agreed by Yandex, it is possible to disable advertising materials impressions in applications for Smart TV devices.
  9. As agreed by Yandex, it is possible to disable impressions in interstitial format.
  10. Advertising materials shall also meet the requirements stated in the General Rules of Creation of Advertising Materials for Yandex Video Network available in the Internet at: https://yandex.com/adv/requirements/videowebreq
  11. Provided that the order is placed for services specified in this Table is made for an amount no less than 700 000 RUB (seven hundred thousand rubles), Yandex may, on Its own initiative, send the advertiser an offer for the provision of the service named “Brand Lift analysis.”* This offer contains the terms and conditions for the provision of this service. If the advertiser places an order for the Brand Lift analysis service, the cost of this Service is included in the cost of the services indicated in this Table that the advertiser orders.

    * “Brand Lift analysis” – an analysis, in survey form, conducted as a measure of the effectiveness of video advertising, which helps to assess the effectiveness of the ad campaign

  12. Placement of advertising materials via Yandex.Display may be terminated. In this case, advertisers will need to move their orders over to Yandex.Direct. Orders will not be automatically transferred.
  13. When calculating the cost of services seasonal rate applies.

  6. As agreed by Yandex, it is possible to disable impressions in interstitial format.
  7. As agreed by Yandex, it is possible to disable impressions in inpage format.
  8. Maximum three options listed in cl. 5 may be applied at the same time, two of them being geographic targeting and targeting by devices and software. If you select Operating systems at the same time did not use more than four types of settings listed in cl. 5, with three of these should be geographic targeting, targeting by device and software at smartphones and tablets and Operating systems.
  9. As agreed by Yandex, alongside Light TV viewers targeting it is possible to use geotargeting, sociodemographic targeting and targeting by devices and software.
  10. Advertising materials shall also meet the requirements stated in the General Rules of Creation of Advertising Materials for Yandex Video Network available on the Internet at: https://yandex.com/adv/requirements/videowebreq.
  11. Advertising materials shall be displayed and the cost per impression shall be determined as follows:
    • The auction takes place online, while a user loads a web page. The auction will result in display of a video commercial of the advertiser, which offered the highest bid for 1,000 impressions (CPM) in view of the entry threshold (Minimum CPM specified in Table 2), in view of the options stipulated in cl. 2, 3, 4, 5. The bid may not exceed RUB 1,000 (excl. VAT).
    • The cost per impression for the video commercial shall be determined based on the principle of a first price auction: if the advertiser offers the highest bid, the banner will be displayed at the bid price, but no less than the entry threshold (Minimum CPM specified in Table 2).
    • Bidding step = RUB 1 (one) per thousand impressions (excl. VAT).
  12.
