Challenge
Rixos Hotels were looking for ways to promote their Egypt branch to Russian-speaking travelers. Egypt remains one of the top destinations for Russian tourists, but promotion on this market is quite specific, not to mention the struggle with payments via local cards.
They needed a trustworthy partner, who knows the audience, local regulations, ad formats that convert best, and ideally could handle the payments in rubles. This is why the Digital House agency suggested partnering with Yandex Ads.
Solution
The client opted for a multi-channel strategy: a combination of Yandex tools to boost their promo, while maintaining Rixos’s premium brand image:
- Yandex Search Ads: Search campaigns targeted users with the highest probability of booking, achieving visibility on queries with high purchase intent;
- Yandex Display Ads: the client targeted Russian user segments based on their interests and past travel behavior with visually rich creatives;
- Ads in Telegram: the client also involved sponsored content on Telegram, one of the most widely used messaging apps in Russia;
- Yandex Travel: the client used it for boosted placements and payment management in roubles;
- Yandex Metrica: this tool allows to track the results and adapts the client’s strategy in real time.
The campaign was on for 7 months, from March to September 2025.
The results? Exponential growth across all funnel stages: more reach, more conversions, more sales.
The client registered an increased number of website sessions from Russia (+ 28.9%). Search and Display ads through Yandex Direct generated the strongest growth in local sessions (+ 175% increase).
Rixos Sharm El Sheikh and Rixos Premium Seagate hotels entered the top 3 of all hotels in Egypt due to a x6 increase in bookings. Rixos Radamis Sharm El Sheikh, thanks to cooperation with Yandex, improved its profitability ranking position in the Yandex Travel rating from 90st to 6th place and also achieved x6 growth in bookings.
Therefore, Yandex became the fastest-growing traffic source in the Russian market for Rixos Hotels, boosting their digital visibility and direct revenue.
