How priority goals work
Priority goals are those user actions that you consider to be most important in a specific campaign. By specifying your priority goals and setting conversion values for them (the amount you are willing to pay for each conversion), our algorithms can optimize your bids for impressions in the Yandex Advertising Network and get you more conversions for the same budget.
Your priority goals will apply to any strategies other than ROI and CPA, since these strategies already have preset goals. If you don't set priority goals, then Engaged sessions will be used by default. In this case, Yandex.Direct traffic purchasing algorithms will use the conversion probability forecast to optimize your bids.
Please note that it will take several weeks for our algorithms to process your goals and get started.
How to set priority goals
To set priority goals and their conversion values, start from the campaign page.
- Go to campaign settings and find the Yandex.Metrica settings block:
- Add your Yandex.Metrica tag. You can only use priority goals if you have a Yandex.Metrica tag installed. To find out how to create and install a Yandex.Metrica tag, click here.
- Select your priority goals and set their conversion values:
The minimum conversion value that can be set is .30 RUB or 0.01 USD/EUR/CHF. You can add as many priority goals as you would like.
Priority goals can even be multi-step goals in Yandex.Metrica, i.e. sequences of up to five steps that a user must fulfill to complete a goal. Each step can contain up to 10 conditions.
You can start using priority goals today — they are already available in the interface. Currently, you can only link them to your campaigns manually. At the end of November, you will be able to add them in bulk using the Direct API and the new Direct Commander and view their statistics. Stay tuned for more news!
