Media ads: recent changes

An overview of changes to Yandex’s media ad placement has been prepared to make it easier for you to navigate Yandex’s media advertising options.

Ad prices and placement

Just as before, order cost will remain fixed for the duration of your order. Your pre-ordered ad placements can extend up to the end of the current year.

The current terms for advertising on the Yandex Home Page are applicable for placements ordered before March 31. New terms will apply starting April 1. Details about this will be posted closer to the date.

Display on Yandex Services

Campaign management will become more flexible with the transition of display ads to auction based systems for Yandex.Weather, Yandex.Maps, Yandex.Traffic, Yandex.Market, Yandex.Timetables, Yandex.Flights, Yandex.Jobs, and Yandex.Realty.

Our auction system follows high standards in viewability. An impression is counted only if at least fifty percent of the banner is in an active browser window for a minimum of two seconds. This time requirement is twice that of the IAB’s viewable ad impression guidelines.

Your display campaigns would also benefit from optimization strategies available in the auction. You can set the minimum or average CPM, the number of impressions, as well as limit your ad placement budget.

We are also launching a new “Fixed CPM” strategy. This allows you to set the price per thousand impressions while also setting budget restrictions and the ad placement date.

Look-alike and audio ads

The auction model will spread over to the look-alike network and audio ads (applicable only for certain targeting options), making the pricing more flexible.
