Mobile Mediation is a Yandex platform for monetizing mobile apps by serving ads from multiple ad networks. Different networks provide ads for impressions, and Mobile Mediation selects the most profitable ones for publishers.
We’ve updated the Mobile Mediation setup interface to make it more intuitive and easy-to-use for developers.
Single interface
You can now find all the mobile app monetization settings in a single menu section: Ads in apps.
After creating an ad unit and choosing an ad format, you can add multiple networks for Mobile Mediation to select ads from for impressions. The Yandex Advertising Network is added by default.
To serve the most profitable ad, Mobile Mediation applies two technologies: In-App Bidding and Smart Waterfall. Using them simultaneously lets us instantly select the most profitable ads from different networks, ensuring publishers get the most revenue possible. Learn more about how mediation works in our short video:
If the network supports In-App Bidding, then you only need to specify the app ID and unit ID from that network in the interface.
FFor networks running Smart Waterfall, you can add multiple units with their thresholds. Read more about getting set up in the Help section.
Single unit ID
Both the Yandex Advertising Network and Mobile Mediation now use same ad unit IDs. This decreases the number of parameters in the app code, and when you add Mobile Mediation to a running YAN unit, you don’t have to release your app again.
If you already set up ad units in Mobile Mediation and their IDs start with ADF, replace them with new ones. You can see the new and old unit IDs in the partner interface. Selecting and serving ads in AFD blocks will be discontinued in January 2023.
Single statistics
In the updated Mobile Mediation interface, statistics from other networks’ dashboards will be combined in a single submenu: Ad networks. You can see all the collected data under Statistics, which enables you track monetization results from different sources on a single screen. For networks that don’t support accurate data collection, statistics will be based on approximate threshold-based data.
Now you can enable accurate data collection from AdMob, myTarget, and AppLovin. For this, grant permission to receive data in the Yandex Advertising Network dashboard. The Yandex Advertising Network is already enabled.
Mobile Mediation is already available to partners in the new interface. Share your feedback and suggestions.
If you haven’t used Mobile Mediation yet, learn more about it and enable it for your app. Mobile Mediation helps partners to increase monetization revenue by 30% on average.
