Updated categories and brand mention settings in dynamic ads

You can now use the narrow query category and manage brand mentions for dynamic ads.

Previously, narrow queries were categorized as targeted queries. So, if you used targeted queries, you’ll now see two categories enabled in the Yandex Direct interface: narrow queries and targeted queries. You can change them as necessary. You need to select at least one autotargeting category in dynamic ads.

Queries that mention competitors no longer have a separate category. This setting is now available in the “Brand mentions in Yandex Search queries” section.

Here, you can select queries that:

• Mention your brand.
• Mention competitor brands.
• Don’t mention your brand or competitor brands.
• If you only select the “Queries mentioning competitors” category, the setting automatically changes to all categories plus only queries mentioning competitor brands.
• If you select other queries besides those mentioning competitors, the group will include the specified categories, except for queries mentioning competitors. All three options will be set in the brand mention.

Updated category and brand mention settings are available in the Yandex Direct interface, Direct Commander, and the API.

Updated advanced preview

To help you analyze even more examples of selected queries, you can now view them directly in the interface, without downloading the file.

Click the View button to open a window with sample queries. There, you can see the examples for the selected categories with your custom brand mention settings. You can still download the file if needed.

Brand mentions in statistics

The Report Wizard now has a new cross-section, “Branded queries”. You can use it to analyze the effectiveness of queries with different brand mentions.

To make things more convenient, the data across different targeting categories and branded/non-branded queries is also displayed for keywords and impressions based on semantic relevance.
