We have also optimized the widgets and added a new level of data arrangement. Here’s what’s new.
Traffic effectiveness dashboard
In previous updates, we enabled the creation of dashboards for different objectives. This time, we’ve added a new dashboard called “Traffic effectiveness”. It features widgets that are necessary for fast analysis of the key metrics of your site or ads.
For instance, you can now analyze the following in a single window:
- General metrics by traffic source to evaluate your site’s traffic dynamics, conversions for favorite goals, and CPA
- Detailed info on traffic sources to find out the number of users and conversions, CPA, and ROI per traffic source
- Audience conversion rate by various cross-sections to see the ratio of new to old users, their demographic characteristics, devices, cities, and much more
Where the new dashboard is located
Go to Dashboards → Traffic effectiveness.
You can set the new dashboard as the Main one if needed. To do this, add it to the overview page:
Multi-widget
Previously, you could only add a single dimension and metric to a widget. You can now use a widget with the required dimension, such as traffic source, and choose up to six metrics to enable you to analyze important insights conveniently.
After you create a multi-widget, you can quickly switch between the metrics and track the dynamics of their changes. You can change the way data is represented at any time in the widget by selecting, for example, a line or column chart.
Updated table widget
We have also increased the limit in the table widget to 10 metrics so that you can easily add info from any report to the dashboard.
For example, you can create a widget with dimensions and metrics similar to those from the “Search queries” report to analyze what keywords generate more traffic and lead to conversion.
New level of data arrangement
Previously, there were two levels of data arrangement in Yandex Metrica:
- Sessions: Data obtained during a user session.
- Events (previously, views or hits): Any user actions.
We’ve now added a new Costs level. This will let you use cost-related metrics, such as clicks or CPA, in a widget to flexibly analyze the cost to revenue ratio and use this info for marketing optimization.
How to use the new features more efficiently
- Apply the updates to other dashboards as well. For example, you can create a dashboard by your site’s audience and add a multi-widget or table widget there.
- Set up auto calculation for ROI. To do this, start sending data on your revenues and costs to Yandex Metrica.
- Get general statistics on your key business goals and automate the CPA calculation. To do this, set up sending cost data and choose your favorite goals.
- Analyze the data in detail. Click the widget header, and you’ll be redirected to the appropriate report with the dimension and metrics. You can also change the set of dimensions and metrics or use segmentation on the report page.
