We have been working on Metrica 2.0 since July of last year and it is now a fully-functional product. It features totally new tools that allow you to thoroughly analyze your website audience and track ad performance – and today the new version of Metrica has completely replaced the previous one. The new Metrica is already receiving all your data, so you don't have to re-install counters or change their codes.
Major differences in Metrica 2.0
Audience segments: You can build any report for a specific audience segment – not just based on all sessions as before. Segments can be compared in order to study your users better. For instance, you can understand how audience behavior has changed over time, or how users of different age groups and genders interact with the website.
Fully-customizable reports: There is no longer a separate report builder. Now, any report can be re-built by combining different parameters as you see fit. In addition, Metrica 2.0 retains the standard ready-made reports such as “Traffic”, “Sources”, and so on.
Attribution models allow you to correctly evaluate the contribution of different user attraction channels to website conversions.
Dashboard: Any parameters may be displayed on the dashboard information page in the new version of Metrica. The ready-made Widgets library will help to quickly collect the most important things in the Dashboard.
Counter tags: These help you to easily manage a large number of counters. Working with several counters with the same tag is the same as working with one counter.
How old data is displayed in reports
The new version of Metrica has all data from all counters from summer 2013 onwards. Not all reports contain data for earlier periods, because Metrica 2.0 processes visits in a different way. However, this archived data is not lost – it is placed in a separate category called "Previous version reports", as it is not possible to apply segmentation or the other new functions to it.
You can also access all the old reports directly from the previous version of Metrica – it will be available at https://old.metrika.yandex.com/ for some time.
