Key highlights of the new SDK
App Open Ads pop up once an app is opened, providing new opportunities to monetize the loading screen.
App Open Ads are an excellent option for those who want to monetize their app’s loading screen. These types of ads are displayed when a user first opens an app or returns to it from another one.
Additionally, these ads don’t take up the entire screen. Users can return to the app anytime.
We recommend showing App Open Ads only to users who meet specific standards. For example, if they’ve reached a certain level or been using the app for over a week but haven’t made any in-game purchases. However, we’ve found that it's not worth showing these ads to users right after installing the app.

More flexible banner sizes
To increase ad fill rates, we made banner sizes more adaptive. With the new API, you can manage banner sizes in two ways:
● StickySize — for small banner bars that attach to the bottom or top of the screen and take up no more than 15% of the screen height. The banner height is calculated automatically depending on the container dimensions and size of the device screen.
● InlineSize — for adaptive banners embedded within the content of an app. For this type of banner, you can specify the maximum width and height of the ad. The optimal banner size is determined automatically.
Now, there aren’t just videos with rewards.
With the new version of the SDK, rewarded ads can now support other ad formats aside from videos, such as text and image-based ads and a grid of multiple ads. Studies have shown that a grid can bring up to 50% more advertising revenue.
Like video ads, users will only receive a reward after the timer countdown is complete. To support our goal of providing a great user experience, users can refuse rewards and close ads anytime.
Automatic ad layouts with DivKit
DivKit is a cross-platform technology from Yandex that configures the layout of ads on the server and allows the new design of an ad to show up immediately in an app, including new fonts, ad elements, and their placements. These design elements will appear in the app right away without additional action required by the developer. In SDK 6, this technology is supported across all ad formats — App Open Ads, banners, rewarded ads, and interstitial ads.
In just milliseconds, the algorithm selects the most visually appealing set of ad elements and placement, customized for each user. As a result, ads become more attractive and bring in more revenue.
