Fresh updates to Yandex Mobile Ads SDK for app monetization

The Yandex Ad Network team is constantly improving the Yandex Mobile Ads SDK to help developers earn more from in-app ads. In this article, we’ll walk you through the key updates and improvements in the latest SDK release — version 7.12.


The Yandex Mobile Ads SDK ranks among the world’s top 20 advertising SDKs, trusted by over 20,000 apps globally to power their ad revenue.

Why update the SDK

Keeping your Yandex Mobile Ads SDK up-to-date gives you access to new features and improvements that help boost ad revenue. Updates also ensure compliance with evolving app store policies and platform standards.

What’s new in the latest release

Ad formats

  • DivKit updates: We upgraded DivKit, our server-driven UI framework which creates the layout of the ads on the server. It now runs more experiments with ad styles and placements, helping find the designs that get more clicks — and more revenue.
  • Stronger user engagement: For ad formats that show several ads in a row, we’ve turned off the automatic skip to the next ad. Now users have more time to engage with each ad, boosting conversions. Revenue from these formats is already up 11%.
  • Video ad previews: Now, in case there’s a delay while a video ad loads, users will see a preview image instead of a blank screen. This simple fix is helping ads get more clicks and bringing an additional 4% in revenue.
  • New ad designs: New designs for display banners and horizontal video ads are now live. These refreshed formats can drive up to 5% higher ad revenue.

  • Native ads in MAX mediation: Native ads from Yandex Ad Network now work through AppLovin MAX mediation, too. Just update your adapter to start using this format (in addition to all other major ad formats, of course).

Ad selection improvements

  • More DSP connections: Yandex Ad Network now partners with over 60 DSPs, giving your app more access to competing bids. With more advertisers competing for your inventory, your app can earn more. We’ve also made ad delivery more stable when working with new DSPs.
  • Expanded global reach: If you’re using bidding-based mediation, you may have noticed ads from Yandex appearing for users in new markets like South Korea and the U.S. The latest SDK lets you show more ads to users in these new regions.

  • Full compatibility with the latest AppMetrica SDK
  • Faster banner auto-refresh
  • Better attribution for SKAdNetwork on iOS
  • Various optimizations aimed at boosting ad conversion rates
  • Bug fixes

All these updates are designed to help you maximize conversions and grow your app’s ad revenue.

Make sure you’re using the latest SDK version and the current mediation adapter version to get all the benefits of Yandex Mobile Ads SDK.

Also, don’t forget to update your app-ads.txt file — this allows ads from new DSPs to be served via the SDK.
