From March 10, 2014, some changes will be made to our system of discounts.
This year, all the thresholds of the discount scale and discount percentages remain the same, but we are changing the approach to the calculations. Whats changing:
- If you place a contextual ad and media ad on Yandex, you can add their budgets together and in so doing increase the discount for one of the services.The discount will be increased for the service you choose — either only Direct or only for media banners. On the other service it will remain the same. For example: the annual budget on a contextual ad is 755 000 rubles or 21 260 USD (at a discount of 3%), while for a media ad the figure is one million rubles or 28 160 USD (with a discount of 10%). Combined, these budgets total 1 755 000 rubles, which can be used in calculations in the following ways: — increase the discount on the media ad to 12%. The Direct discount of 3% will continue to be applied on the sum of 755 thousand. or — increase the Direct discount to 5%. The discount on media banners remains at 10%.Each advertiser can choose one variant in a year.
- The discount scale on media ads will become uniform. The budget for banners on mobile versions of Yandex services now stacks with the budget for all other media banners, and an overall discount is calculated for them.
- In Yandex.Direct, the discount will not be calculated every day, but on the tenth day of each month. The rest of the calculation algorithm has not changed: the system will update the data on the costs of services which were provided in the last 12 months, and will determine the discount rate for this amount.
