Device requirements

Yandex Maps is available for smartphones and tablets with iOS 15+ or Android 6+.

If you downloaded Yandex Maps to your Android 5 device, you can use app version 16.8, but updates will be unavailable.

If you downloaded Yandex Maps to your iOS 14 or lower device, you can redownload an older version of the app.

Check the app version

  1. Tap  (profile picture). If you haven't logged in, tap .
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Open About

Update the app

Your device's operating system automatically detects when an update is available for the app and prompts you to install it. You can also manually update Yandex Maps to the latest version:

  1. Open Google Play.
  2. In the upper-right corner, tap your profile picture.
  3. Open Manage apps & device.
  4. Under Updates available, tap See details.
  5. Find Yandex Maps and tap Update.

Alternatively, you can go to the Yandex Maps page in Google Play and tap Update.

Note. If you already have the latest version of Yandex Maps, the Update button changes to Open.

Delete the app

  1. On your mobile device, open Google Play.
  2. In the upper-right corner, tap your profile picture.
  3. Select Manage apps & device → Manage.
  4. Select Yandex Maps, then tap in the upper-right corner.
  5. Tap Delete.

FAQ

The app won't open or keeps crashing when I'm trying to use it
  1. Update to the latest version of the app.
  2. If you're using an Android device, check if it has enough RAM. If it doesn't, close other applications.

I can't install or update the app

Check that your device meets hardware requirements for the app to run. If it does, but you still can't install or update the app, contact support.

The app is pre-installed on the device, and I can't remove it

Some manufacturers ship their devices with Yandex Maps already pre-installed on them. You can't completely remove a pre-installed app, but you can disable it. In this case, the app will no longer run, update, or use your data.
