# Rules and requirements
All ads in Yandex Direct undergo moderation to ensure compliance with our advertising and promotional content requirements. Please read the rules below before placing your ads.
**[Products and offerings that are prohibited or restricted from promotion](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/moderation/special-categories.md)**
Yandex does not accept advertisements for certain products and services, and there are additional rules that apply to certain subjects. This is due to legal restrictions and Yandex advertising policy. Please make sure that your products/services do not fall into any of the [prohibited categories](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/moderation/restricted-categories.md) and find out which documents you need to pass moderation.

To make sure you create your ads correctly, familiarize yourself with the rules concerning texts and keywords, as well as the requirements for images, landing pages, and other ad elements.

Yandex doesn't allow placement of ads for certain goods and services in the display banner format on a new Yandex Browser tab. It also has additional rules for this placement format.
For advertising and promotional content — such as text, keywords, and links, — moderation typically takes a few hours. The more ads a campaign contains, the longer it usually takes to moderate.
You'll receive the moderation results by email, and you can also check the status of your campaign in the interface.
If the advertiser's actions put Yandex, users, or partners at risk, the advertiser's account in Yandex Direct may be blocked. Learn more about [blocking reasons](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/moderation/block.md).
