# How do I view an ad on a platform?

You can see what your ad looks like on any site without spending your budget on it. You can do this only if your ad has passed moderation and your campaign is running.
You cannot view an ad with the **Ads are served** status if its changes are currently under review.
You can preview ads only in the [Yandex Advertising Network](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/general/yan.md), [search results](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/general/positions.md), and the [product gallery](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/product-gallery/about.md). You can't apply targeting to other placements, such as ads in messaging apps, dynamic placements on Yandex Search, advertising on Yandex Maps, the service gallery, or list of organizations in search results.
### How do I preview an ad?
1. On the **Campaigns** page, select your campaign from the list, go to the **Ads** tab, and choose the ad you want to preview. You can only preview the ads that are in the **Ads are served** status. In the upper-right corner, click  → **Preview ad**.

1. The preview window will open. Allow [cookies](https://yandex.com/support/common/browsers-settings/browsers-cookies.html) and click **Preview**. The cookie is stored in your browser. The lifetime of a cookie is 10 minutes.

Before previewing in the Safari browser, disable **Prevent cross-site tracking** or you will get an error. To do this, click **Safari** → **Settings** at the top. Disable **Prevent cross-site tracking** under **Privacy**.

1. During this time, you can view the ad on any platform where it [can be displayed](#requirements) (for example, platforms where the ad has already been served). You can view a list of these sites either in a new window (after clicking the **Preview** button and completing the preview settings) or in the [Report Wizard](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/statistics/new-reports-wizard.md). If you can't find the ad, try refreshing your page several times or viewing it on another site.
You can only view the ad in the browser where you saved the cookies. [Incognito](https://yandex.ru/support/browser/personal-data-protection/incognito-mode.html) mode in Yandex Browser or similar modes in other browsers must be disabled.
How to preview an ad based on its placement:
- **Yandex Advertising Network**: Go to the platform, and the ad will automatically be served in the available ad units.
- **[Yandex Search](https://ya.ru/) and other search platform**: Go to the platform and enter a search query.
- **Product gallery in Yandex Search**: Go to the Yandex Search page and enter the product name.
Retargeting will replace cookies with the new ones, even if the previous cookies haven't expired yet. For this reason, you can't preview multiple ads at once.

Your ad clicks and impressions that occur before the cookie expires will not be counted in your statistics and you will not be charged for them.

### Preview conditions {#requirements}
The ad will display if the platform has an available placement.

- A fixed-size ad may not fit the ad unit's aspect ratio.
- When you click **Preview**, the ad is displayed in all ad units on the platform for 10 minutes.
