# Managing feeds
A feed is a file that contains information about products and services. Use a feed when you create:
- [Product ads](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/unified-performance-campaign/create-product.md) and [catalog page ads](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/unified-performance-campaign/create-catalogs.md) in the unified performance campaign.
- [Product campaigns](https://yandex.com/support/direct/en/campaign-master/product-campaign.md).
Yandex Direct will analyze the contents of the feed and automatically generate ads with product offerings to be displayed in search results, the Yandex Advertising Network, and the product gallery.
