Transfer clients
In Yandex Direct, you can transfer client accounts — without resetting their parameters and access permissions, manually copying campaigns, or taking any other actions.
Supported options:
- Linking a client who managed their promotion independently to an agency.
- Transferring a client from one agency to another.
Transitioning a client from an agency to independent management will also be available soon.
Warning
Transferring a client's account is only performed in Yandex Direct. This doesn't transfer the client's account in other Yandex services, like Yandex Business or Yandex PromoPages.
Advantages
- The transfer is automatic: it's enough to request it from a Yandex Direct account.
- Started campaigns keep running.
- All campaign settings, statistics, and elements from the library are kept during the transfer.
- Strategy training isn't reset: it continues if funds from a shared credit line or overdraft are added to the balance during the transfer.
- The client retains access to Yandex Metrica, organizations, and apps linked to their account.
- The client retains access to integrations with external apps (for example, end-to-end analytics and ad management services), if it was granted to the client's login and the account wasn't created via an organization in Yandex ID.
- All client representatives are transferred without changes, with read-only access. Learn more about access rights that representatives are given when a client account is transferred.
- The system creates a new version of ad labeling based on information provided in the request. After the transfer, all ads will contain up-to-date information about the advertiser and agency.
Features and limitations
Alert
Client accounts are transferred exclusively on the first day of the following month.
Only users with edit access can create, fill out, approve, or reject a transfer request.
If you're transferring an account on an individual credit line, contact your agency department manager. Such a transfer requires additional preparation on our side and must be planned at least 7 business days before submitting the request.
You can't transfer a client account if:
- The client's financial account isn't in rubles.
- The client has an annual partnership agreement.
- The receiving agency operates under an offer agreement.
- The client has overdue debts.
- The receiving agency has overdue debts.
- The client is launching social ads.
What happens to funds on the balance
When linking a client to an agency
During the account transfer, the client's remaining funds are debited from their financial account and moved to available funds in Yandex Balance. To request a refund, contact support.
After the client's remaining balance is debited, funds are credited to their account from the receiving agency. The total amount, payment method, and payer are specified in the transfer request.
When transferring a client to another agency
The transferring agency's remaining funds are:
- Debited from the order to the agency's shared credit line (for agencies with postpaid contracts).
- Debited from the financial account to the balance (for agencies with prepaid contracts). To request a refund or credit funds to another client, contact support.
Right after the client's remaining balance is debited, funds are credited to their account from the receiving agency. The receiving agency specifies the total amount, payment method, and payer in the transfer request.
When transitioning a client to independent management
- For agencies with postpaid contracts: the remaining funds are debited from the order to the agency's shared credit line.
- For agencies with prepaid contracts: the remaining funds are debited from the financial account to the balance. To request a refund or credit funds to another client, contact support.
Overdraft
Overdraft ensures that campaigns keep running smoothly after the client account transfer.
Warning
The overdraft is provided in Russian rubles.
An invoice to repay the overdraft is issued on the first of the month, that is, at the day of the account transfer. The total amount in rubles, payment method, and payer are specified in the transfer request.
You must pay the invoice within 15 business days. You can view and pay the invoice in Yandex Balance.
Client representatives
When a client changes or joins an agency, all their representatives are transferred with their account. The entire client's account is granted Read only access rights. To grant additional permissions, the receiving agency needs to set up access for the client:
- Click Edit next to their login in the client list.
- Select the necessary options in the Additional rights field.
Warning
Client representatives won't be able to edit campaigns until the receiving agency changes the client's access level.
Client's chief representative was created via an organization in Yandex ID
If a client account was created via an organization in Yandex ID, in the New username of the chief representative field in the transfer request, specify a login that hasn't previously been used in Yandex Direct. The new login will be added as the client's chief representative, and the login created via the organization in Yandex ID will be removed from the list of representatives.
Warning
Don't register the login specified in the request in Yandex Direct until the transfer is finished. After the transfer is completed successfully, sign in with that login and you'll be redirected to the client's account.
If a login is or has been used in Yandex Direct by the time of the transfer, the system won't be able to add it. The Yandex ID organization of the transferring agency will remain the chief representative. In this case, the transferring agency will retain access to the transferred account.
How to transfer a client account
You can access transfer requests in one of the following ways:
- In the left menu, click Tools → Transfer requests.
- In the left menu, click the login and select Transfer requests.
Step 1. The receiving agency creates a request

In the Transfer requests section, click Create request.

Select the Link to agency request type.

Enter the client login.

Set a credit limit (for agencies with a postpaid contract) or an overdraft limit (for agencies with a prepaid contract) — the total amount the agency will provide to the client. We recommend providing an amount that will cover the first few days after the transfer.
Warning
If you enter
0in the Credit limit or Overdraft limit field in the request, all the client's campaigns will pause after the account transfer. -
Fill in the advertiser details and specify the contract attributes.

Specify the payer for the overdraft or credit limit repayment.

Submit the request.
After the request is processed:
- The receiving agency will see the Link to agency request with the Awaiting client confirmation status.
- The client will see the Link to agency request with the Confirmation required status.
Step 2. The client approves the request
In the Transfer requests section, open the request, review the details, and click Approve.
If the request contains incorrect information or no transfer is needed, click Reject — the request status will change to Declined.
After approval and processing, the request status will change to Login transfer pending. The account will be transferred on the first day of the following month.
Warning
24 hours before the transfer date, campaign creation and balance top-up will be disabled for the client.
Step 1. The transferring agency creates a request

In the Transfer requests section, click Create request.

Select the Change agency request type.

Enter the client login.

Enter the ID of the receiving agency (ask the client for it).
The receiving agency can find their ID in the Transfer requests section, to the right of the login.

Submit the request.
After the request is processed:
- The transferring agency will see the Change agency request with the Awaiting agency confirmation status.
- The receiving agency will see the Link to agency request with the Confirmation required status.
- The client will see the Change agency request with the Awaiting agency confirmation status.
Step 2. The receiving agency approves the request

Go to the Transfer requests section and open the incoming request.

If the account was created via an organization in Yandex ID, replace the
porg-xxxlogin with the login that will become the new chief representative of the client after the transfer. Learn more. -
Set a credit limit (for agencies with a postpaid contract) or an overdraft limit (for agencies with a prepaid contract) — the total amount the agency will provide to the client. We recommend providing an amount that will cover the first few days after the transfer.

Set the overdraft limit, which is the amount Yandex can provide on credit to keep ads running. We recommend specifying an amount that will cover the first few days after the transfer.

If you enter
0in the Overdraft limit field in the request, all campaigns will pause after the account transfer. -
Select the payment method and payer for overdraft repayment.

Fill in the advertiser details.

Submit the request.
After processing, both the client and agency will see the Unlink from agency request in the Transfer requests section.
Step 2. The agency approves the request
In the Transfer requests section, open the request, review the details, and click Approve.
If the request contains incorrect information or no transfer is needed, click Reject — the request status will change to Declined.
After approval and processing, the request status will change to Login transfer pending. The account will be transferred on the first day of the following month.
Warning

Recommendations
For agencies
- Download all the required statistics via the Report Wizard.
- Remove your employees from the client's representative list.
- If the client account was created via an organization in Yandex ID:
- Unlink the organization from the business group.
- Delete the organization if you don't use it in other Yandex services. Learn more about managing organizations in Yandex ID Help.
- Pay off any overdue debt.
- Make sure you have enough funds on your shared credit line to credit the client.
- Make sure that your contract with Yandex will be valid at the time of the account transfer.
- After the account transfer, set up the required access rights to Yandex Metrica, directories, and apps.
- Review and edit the list of representatives with account access together with the client.
- Set up the access level for the client: click Edit next to the login in the client list and select the options you need in the Additional rights field.
Clients
- Pay off any overdue debt.
- If you have funds left in the account, request a refund.
- After the account transfer, grant agency representatives the required access rights.

Add a payer in Yandex Balance if you haven't done it yet.
Warning
Make sure to enter the taxpayer identification number (INN) — it's sent to the state register (ERIR, Unified Register of Online Advertising).
The transfer won't go through if the INN isn't specified and the Overdraft limit field in the request isn't
0. -
Remove agency employees from the list of representatives.

After the account transfer, set up the required access rights to Yandex Metrica, directories, and apps.
How to cancel an account transfer request
In the Transfer requests section, click
next to the request and select Revoke. The request status will change to Canceled by requester.
