The Underground Wonder World of Georgia Prometheus Cave, located in the heart of Georgia, is the largest and most impressive cave in the country. The length of its underground passages reaches 22 kilometers, and the number of halls is 17. However, only a 1.4 km long section is open to tourists, descending to a depth of 20-40 meters below sea level. Diving into this wonderful underground world will take about an hour. Prometheus Cave impresses with its beauty and uniqueness. Soft colored lighting creates a magical atmosphere, highlighting majestic stalactites and stalagmites. Inside the cave you can see an underground waterfall, a lake and enjoy classical music, which enhances the feeling of magic of this place. History The cave was discovered by speleologists in 1983 and was originally named Kumistavi, which is associated with the Kumi River passing through it. Since then, work has begun on turning the cave into a tourist attraction. However, after delays related to the reconstruction, the project was resumed only in 2007, when international experts proposed ideas for landscaping. In 2011, the cave was officially opened to the public. Excursions Guided tours to the cave are conducted in Georgian, Russian and English. It is important to note that the schedule depends on the number of applicants. You can buy tickets at the information center and wait for the tour to begin. There are air conditioners and a gift shop. During the tour, you will explore 6 halls, which reach a height of 20 meters, and enjoy the splendor of the underground formations. Passages between the halls take place along concrete paths, and in the final hall you can go on a boat tour. Recommendations Before visiting the cave, please note that the temperature inside is usually 14 degrees. It is recommended to bring a jacket or hoodie. It is also important to wear shoes with non-slip soles, as the surface can be slippery. Keep an eye on children, as there are no fences in some places, and entry for children under 6 is officially prohibited. This place is definitely worth including in your itinerary.

Хорошие и интересные экскурсии на русском и английском, сама пещера очень красивая, можно еще прокатиться на лодке, лучше надевать удобную обувь и не сильно легкую одежду, тк в пещере прохладно

It is very interesting and beautiful in a cave in its own way. The organizers tried to make walking comfortable and safe. After the tour, we took a boat ride through the cave, I highly recommend it. You will not be indifferent.
