A beautiful historical place. Beautiful skeletons of the former monastery. Amazing view. You can swim, there are a lot of fish and other marine life in the water.

This is one of the most mysterious Orthodox shrines of the Aegean Sea, shrouded in legends and attracting both pilgrims and ordinary tourists. "Second Home" of the Virgin Mary: According to a number of local historical hypotheses and estimates by researchers, this secluded island temple could serve as a refuge and is considered by some as a potential "second earthly refuge" of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Turkey (the official house is considered to be in Ephesus). Matryoshka Temple: Architectural excavations have shown that the complex has a unique structure: a later, well-preserved Byzantine church of the 12th–13th centuries was built right inside the contours of a much older early Christian temple, the age of the foundation of which is estimated at almost 1800 years. The church is roofless, but functioning, a sacred olive tree and a wishing tree. Camellia Island is completely uninhabited by humans, but it is home to a huge population of wild goats.

The monastery is really ancient, trampled by tourists, next to the wish tree hung with ribbons. The place is beautiful, the island is washed by the beautiful waters of the sea, the coolest place for photos!
