A beautiful medieval lake fortress with an interesting story, which I will not tell you about :). There are museums dedicated to the history of the castle and Orthodox iconography within the walls of the fortress. In addition, the Savonlinna Opera Festival has been held here every summer since 1912. Our family has a tradition of riding it.
