The place is steeped in history! I recommend that you Google historical facts in advance that will not leave you indifferent, and the Catholic cathedral reminded you of Italy!

A few kilometers from Nazareth and from Lake Tiberias (Kinneret) rises the biblical Mount Tabor, or Mount of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the photo it is impossible to convey the beautiful views. The calm waters of Lake Kinneret flow nearby, where fishermen still catch delicious St. Peter's fish, which can be tasted at a local Arabic restaurant. There is a beautiful Greek Orthodox Church of the 12 Apostles off the coast of Kinneret, which is cared for by a Greek priest. Peacocks walk sedately in the temple garden, and the most beautiful bougainvilleas bloom. The visit is unforgettable. One of the most peaceful corners of Israel.

In the Christian tradition, Mount Tabor is considered the place of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Mount Tabor is located in the Lower Galilee, in the eastern part of the Jezreel Valley, near Nazareth, 11 km from the Sea of Galilee. The slopes of Tabor are overgrown with evergreen oaks, olives, acacia, hazel, oleander, bushes of wild roses and jasmine. There are two active monasteries on the top of the mountain, an Orthodox and a Catholic one. The active Greek Orthodox Convent of the Transfiguration of the Lord is located in the northeastern part of the peak of Tabor. On the way to the monastery on the Evangelical Mount Tabor, there is a beautiful view of the Jezreel Valley, Mount Carmel and the Golan Heights. By the twentieth century. in the southwestern part of the peak of Tabor, a Catholic Franciscan monastery was built, which occupies the territory of a fortress erected by Muslims in the XIII century. According to Catholic tradition, the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ took place here. FAITH drives us all...And if your FAITH is strong, then it will definitely bring you to Mount Tabor! You will never regret being here...
