My family and our friends visited the Monastery in January of this year, one of the monks of the Monastery gave us an excursion, told us the history of the Monastery, led us around the Monastery, I personally felt divine grace, we all really enjoyed the trip, it's inspiring, it's cool to listen, watch, learn history, learn new things, and it's also great when Together with my family, I wish everyone good health and opportunities to explore the world.

An absolutely fabulous place! I took an individual tour from Hurghada. I left at 5 a.m., at 8 a.m. I was out of place, despite the fact that the car was traveling 140-165 km/h on average. It was not hot and there were no visitors yet. The Coptic monastery is located behind an epic sheer wall, a Muslim guide was not allowed everywhere with me. But the accompanying monk showed me everything. The refectory, the towers, the church, the mill, the spring, the dovecote, the monks' building, climbed the wall (the view is awesome), a place above the entrance where both a person and products could be lifted into the monastery in a cradle. Amazing architecture, it feels like you're on Mars. Well, maybe it's a bit like Greek Meteors. A separate shock is the frescoes painted in earthen paints, in a restrained color with clear silhouettes, minimal expressive means. After the visit, I experienced an incredible uplift in mood and some kind of peace. I advise those who have seen almost everything in Egypt! p.s. By 14.30 I was already at the hotel.

We went to this monastery by car from Hurghada. The journey took about 3.5 hours. At the entrance to the monastery, we were greeted and offered a guided tour. We refused, but they took us anyway, and showed us an old church in which the relics of St. Peter are preserved. Anthony the Great. This is a man who lived in the 3rd-4th century, secluded himself in the desert to pray to the Lord, he had like-minded people who later (about 1600 years ago) founded this monastery. The silence, beauty and splendor are impressive. There are about 100 monks in the monastery, but during our visit we saw 2-3, no more. Russian Russian inscriptions - "Archimandrite Porfiry" and "P. Solovyov 1850" - were noticed. In 1850, the head of the Russian ecclesiastical mission in Jerusalem visited this monastery, and the inscriptions have remained ever since. We realized that we had to come again, because in addition to the monastery itself, we can go down 1,200 steps into the mountains, where several monks live in caves, and we can chat with them.
