I knew at first sight that it was a different structure. It was one of the old Russian churches again. Its history is as follows: Fethiye Mosque is a building converted from a church to a mosque located in the New Neighborhood in the center of Kars. While the church was called Aleksandr Nevsky Church (Russian: The Church of Alexander Nevsky Tserkov Aleksandra Nevskogo) or Kazakh Church. 19. the old Christian church, built at the end of the century, is one of the oldest buildings in the region and remained empty after the Armenian migration of 1915. After the Turkish-Armenian War of 1921, it was used by some public institutions for a while and later converted into a mosque. The church structure has a rectangular plan and is made of light and dark brown tuff stone. The pediment with a round arch over the windows, the application on the roof arranged in the form of a triple clover leaf is a lighting area with a triple window system arranged in a round arch, which is also seen in Baltic-style buildings. The church was founded in 19th century after the Russian Empire took Kars and established Kars Oblast in 1878. it was built by the Russians again at the end of the century. The onion domes of the church, an example of Russian religious architecture, were dismantled in 1953, and the bell tower was demolished. The house of worship was used as an indoor sports hall until the 1970s. it has been converted into a mosque with two minarets added in 1984.
