I also managed to visit the Islamic Republic during Ramadan, which is officially enshrined in the laws here. Imagine if we had a ban on meat trade during Orthodox fasts. In Iran, all public catering is closed until 21 o'clock, and an Iranian can be fined for eating and drinking in public places. I was preparing for the fact that there would be no food or water to buy until the evening, but as it turned out, grocery stores, unlike cafes, work properly here: Sharia does not prohibit selling food at any time.
