The cathedral is not only beautiful inside, not canonical architecture, unusual mosaic decoration, reminiscent of Byzantine decoration, but the cathedral has a great cultural heritage. It was built as the tomb of Charlemagne and subsequently many Holy Roman emperors were crowned here. Admission is free, open until 18:00

Aachen Cathedral (German: Aachener Dom, Aachener Münster, Kaiserdom) is the cathedral of the diocese of Aachen, consecrated in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. For centuries, Holy Roman emperors have been crowned here. In 1978, the cathedral was one of the first to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It's a very cool cathedral.
