NPI Project manager
Our Yandex team develops innovative smart devices, from smart speakers to TVs, enhancing user experiences. We're seeking a project manager for the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure seamless transitions from concept to production.
Tasks that await you
Drive NPI processes
- You will manage the NPI process, including PCBA, assembly, fixtures, equipment, and testing coordination
- Monitor the technical aspects of NPI activities to meet product specifications
- Participate in product start-up, readiness reviews, qualification builds, and transfer meetings
- Review phase gate checklists and provide recommendations
Ensure collaboration and technical leadership
- You will assist the PM in defining process requirements, equipment needs, and resource allocation
- Provide technical guidance to the project execution team
- Monitor partner staff competencies and deliver technical training
- Participate in NPI meetings, take minutes, and address issues affecting timelines
Conduct risk analysis
- You will identify project risks through engineering analysis and alert stakeholders to urgent concerns
- Prepare and present risk mitigation strategies to internal and external teams
Monitor build performance and quality
- You will participate in builds, review results, and analyze performance metrics such as Quality, UPH, and FPY
- Collaborate with partners and the PM to resolve issues and optimize outcomes
We expect that you
- Have 5+ years of experience in process engineering management within a manufacturing environment
- Are proficient in SMT, assembly, and line testing processes for consumer electronics
- Possess strong knowledge of APQP/IPD, PFMEA, and Control Plan tools
- Are experienced with DFM analysis and IE tools (ECRS, floor layout review, line balancing)
- Have expertise in troubleshooting, including the 8D methodology
- Can conduct engineering risk analysis and prepare detailed project presentations
- Are fluent in English (written and spoken) and have a minimum HSK 4 level in Chinese
- Are familiar with coordinating activities between manufacturing sites and design teams
- Are based in Shenzhen or willing to relocate
