Smart Home Project Manager (ODM/ Sourcing)
Our team at Yandex creates innovative smart devices, including smart speakers and TVs. We are seeking a Project Manager to help collaborate on our smart home products and manage sourcing and production processes. This role involves working with cross-functional teams and managing the entire product lifecycle from sourcing to delivery.
Tasks that await you
Sourcing management
You will work on sourcing strategies based on the smart home roadmap to support business needs. You will also be responsible for supplier introduction, evaluation, and performance management to ensure products align with the correct ODM strategy, cost, and supply model. Additionally, you will manage RFI, RFQ, and kickoff processes, supporting business timelines.
Project management You will refine product specifications, initiate project work breakdown structures and schedules, assign tasks to ODM/partner team members, and monitor project activities throughout the lifecycle. You will ensure the product meets specifications, manage risks, and work to improve supplier capabilities for enhanced product quality. Additionally, your understanding of product techniques will help in driving successful project outcomes.
Cross-functional support You will work closely with Yandex's product and operation teams for evaluations, customizations, and production. Additionally, you will lead on-site management of product manufacturing partners to handle builds, mitigate risks, ramp up production, and ensure on-time delivery. Finally, you will support process improvement initiatives both within internal projects and with ODMs to optimize systems, operations, and project management processes.
Collaboration on products You will oversee the transition of products from the sourcing stage to production, using your technical and manufacturing knowledge to set up PDT teamwork between Yandex and ODMs. Additionally, you will evaluate production and business risks and ensure a smooth product transfer.
We expect that you
- Have a Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in engineering
- Have 8+ years of ODM procurement and supply chain management experience in the electronics industry, including 5+ years with top-10 mobile, PC, TV, or IT brands
- Are familiar with supplier sourcing, contract management, and performance management processes
- Have experience in the smart home industry and understand key trends in the smart home ecosystem
- Pay strong attention to detail and are result-driven
- Are fluent in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with global teams and partners
- Are based in Shenzhen
