Explanation of Requirement 5.1.3

Requirement 5.1.3

The game's name, for each language selected in the draft, must be identical across the game and all draft materials, including text fields and all promotional materials.

The key point of the rule is that the game's name must be absolutely identical in all draft materials in the same language. Even minor differences, such as different articles, use of paronyms, adding words or changing their order, are prohibited.

Sometimes, differences in the name on creative materials are permissible: for example, you can add information about the game mechanics or call the user to action. The main thing is that the additional segment should not be interpreted as part of the game's name. Using only part of the name in creative materials is allowed if this text is perceived, for example, as a genre or tag.

Different naming

Games with different name versions listed in their drafts will not pass moderation or will be taken down from publication. Names are considered different if:

  • They use different words.
  • Some phrases are missing in one of them.
  • The words are arranged in a different order.
  • They are written in different languages or languages that do not match the draft's localization.
  • The spelling of any words differs.
  • The spacing between words differs.

Game

Reason for publication refusal

Title: «Cubecraft: Merge Cubes 2048»

The «2048» label is perceived as an independent title because it borrows a significant part of the game's name and is the sole inscription and main element of the cover. Meanwhile, this inscription does not match the name provided in the draft. Acceptable Version.

Title: «Hacker Clicker»

The title on the cover and in the text field are indicated in different languages.

Title: «Bag Design 3D»

Only part of the title is featured on the cover, which is not indicative of the game's unique features. The title on the cover differs from the game title mentioned in text fields: «Bag Design 3D» — «Bag Shop».

Title: «The "Labyrinth of Fear" Quest»

Unlike the title on the cover, the game title mentioned in the draft includes the word «quest»: «The "Labyrinth of Fear" Quest» — «Labyrinth of Fear».

Title: «Sweet sugar»

On the cover, the word «candy» has been added to the game's title «Sweet sugar» and is connected with a line to the main title. There are no other inscriptions on the cover. As a result, a different title has been formed — «Sweet sugar candy».

Title: «FNaF Yes or No Quiz»

The order of words on the cover has been changed, but this doesn't aid in styling the creative, and therefore the rearrangement is incorrect.

Title: «Rusichi vs Lizards»

About the Game: «Game "Russians vs Lizards" is a unique clicker, which not only has its own unique atmosphere, but also the most ingenious system of levels and the strongest plot contrast.

The name used in the About the Game section differs from the one announced: «Rusichi vs Lizards» — «Russians vs Lizards».

Title: «Color Master»

SEO description: «How well can you distinguish the color palette? Find out in the exciting game "Color Master"!»

The name used in the SEO description is one letter shorter than the name listed in the corresponding field: «Color Master» versus «Color Masters».

Title: «A popular drawing game»

The cover title lacks the article «a».

Title: «CountrySurfers»

SEO description: «Country Surfers is an exciting endless runner where players navigate through vibrant cityscapes, dodge obstacles, and carry their country's flag. Show off your patriotic spirit and become the ultimate Country Surfer!»

The name is written separately in the description, which differs from the spelling in the corresponding field.

Same naming

Moderation may allow a game for publication even if only part of its title is presented on its media materials. This can happen if the fragment isn’t perceived as an alternative version of the title. In addition to this, you may:

  • Mention the genre, key features of the game.
  • Use external inscriptions related to in-game materials or showcasing game capabilities.
  • Creatively arrange parts of the title to individualize the media material. The title should look identical to the original one.
  • Add the developer's logo that contains the title to the media materials.
  • Use arbitrary text that doesn’t contain part of the title and isn’t perceived as another title.

Some differences in the title formatting are also permissible:

  • Replacing 1−2 letters with creative elements (images), provided the text remains legible.
  • Using different case letters.
  • Differences in punctuation marks.
  • Differences in grammatical cases.
  • Using «&» instead of «and».
  • Using Roman numerals instead of Arabic numerals, and vice versa.

Game

Comment

Title: «Cube Merge 2048»

The developer approached the naming creatively: among other tiles, 2048 was placed, and the emphasis on the latter is not as strong. The tiles together look like a demonstration of game elements, hence 2048 does not read as an alternative title and is acceptable.

Title: «LowPoly 3D Art»

The «3D» inscription on the icon indicates a key feature of the game and is not perceived as a title.

Title: «What to Talk About? 600 Conversation Topics»

The question example on the right is not perceived as part of the title. It is isolated and demonstrates the game's design.

Title: «Ara Parrot Evolution: Clicker»

The phrase on the cover is in the imperative mood and is perceived as a call to action or slogan, rather than a title.

Title: «Tests: Which One Are You? — A Collection of Tests»

The text at the bottom of the cover is isolated and not perceived as part of the title.

Title: «Coin»

The letter «o» on the cover is replaced with a coin, while the readability of the title is preserved.

Title: «Mahjong Deluxe»

In this case, besides the game's name, the media material includes the developer team's logo, which is permitted.

Title: «Poker Las Vegas»

The developer cleverly manipulated the title by designing it to resemble a chip: highlighting the main concept word «poker» upfront, making it the primary and first element upon reading. Thanks to this, the title on the cover remains identical to the main title, even though the formal word order on it differs slightly.

Title: «Kamisado Online»

The title on the cover is written in a different case, but this is permissible.

Title: «How Well Do You Know The Boy's Word»

About the game: «How well do you know the "The Boy's Word" – this captivating quiz game will test your knowledge of the language and slang of the boyz subculture.»

The description part of the title is written using a different case, which is permissible.

Title: «Maze of Horror: Zombie Shooter»

The colon is missing on the cover, which is permissible.

Title: «Laltika Clicker»

Bottles labeled «Laltika» are part of the game's ambiance and are not considered part of the title.

Title: «Sudoku Expert»

About the game: «Sudoku is a logic-based number puzzle game. Fill in the empty cells with numbers from 1 to 9 in such a way that each digit only appears once in every row, every column, and in each 3x3 square.»

In the text field, «sudoku» is not a shortened title but refers to the type of game.

Title: «Energonium»

About the game: «Get ready to enter the thrilling world of Energonium. In this game, as an engineer, you will be tasked with repairing and calibrating circuits, conducting energy flows through them.»

In the text blocks, the title varies according to cases.

Title: «Hook & Lava»

SEO description: «Hook and Lava is a competitive first-person 3D game. Test your skills at the tower of courage and try to escape from the dungeon!»

The description uses «and» instead of «&».

Title: «GTA 6 test»

Roman numerals are used on the icon, while Arabic numerals are used in the name.
