Public Transport on Yandex.Maps for Mobile

Internet, September 7, 2011. In addition to its car route finder, Yandex.Maps for mobile app now offers users a route planner for public transport. This feature is available in a new version of the application for mobile devices supporting Android.

The application calculates routes for travelling by bus, trolleybus, tram or metro. Smart phone users can plan their travel at any time anywhere, while shopping, for instance, or visiting a friend. Yandex.Maps for mobile offers one or more travel route suggestions, showing all changes and travel time. The user can choose the most convenient route, for example, the shortest one or the one without changes.

The public transport route planner appeared on the desktop Yandex.Maps service in June this year. Yandex helps users plan their travel by public transport in three cities: Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Kazan.

Yandex Maps for mobile app with public transport route planner is available for download on the Android Market.
