Manage personal data

For your convenience, Yandex Start saves certain data. This can include autofill data or addresses of visited pages. You can delete this data.

Delete data in the app

  1. Go to  (profile picture) → App settings.

  2. Tap Clear data.

  3. Select the necessary options:

    • Local history on device: Addresses of the pages that you visited.
    • Search history on server: A list of your search queries.
    • Website data: Cookies (which can store things like your username, password, or information about products that you added to the cart).
    • Cache: Copies of data from pages that you visited (such as music, videos, and images).
    • Warnings for sites: If a site asks permission to perform an action (for example, running a plugin) and you select Always for this site, this action is performed by default in the future. After you clear the warning list, sites ask for permissions again.
    • Downloads: A list of files downloaded using the app.
    • Open tabs: Tabs opened in the app.
  4. Tap Clear data.

Afterwards, this data will be deleted on the current device. If syncing is enabled, this data will be deleted from all your devices after a short while.

Manage personal data on Yandex services

When you use Yandex services, your data is saved in them. For example, your browsing history. We store this data with utmost care and make sure it's well-protected. Our repositories comply with SOC 2, which is one of the most reliable international standards for managing user data.

You can manage your personal data on the Your data on Yandex page.

  1. Go to Your data on Yandex and make sure that you're logged in with the correct Yandex ID.
  2. Click Download data.
  3. Tap Create archive.

When the archive is ready, Yandex notifies you by email that you can download it. If you don't have a Yandex email, you have to check the archive loading status on the page.

Note

The archive is password-protected. To learn how to get a password and open the archive, go to Yandex ID Help.

  1. Go to Your data on Yandex and make sure that you're logged in with the correct Yandex ID.

  2. In the Delete data section, click the service name. You'll see a list of all data types that Yandex stores for this service.

    Note

If the service you need isn't there, click Other services at the bottom of the list.

  3. Select the line with the data type.

  4. Click Uninstall in the window that opens. If you change your mind about deleting data, tap Cancel.

After deletion, almost all data immediately become unavailable. Yandex will store some types of data for a period of time as is required by law.
