Enable and configure auto-uploads
The first time you open the app, it will automatically ask if you want to turn on auto-uploads for your photos and videos. The files will only upload when you're connected to Wi-Fi. You can skip this step to enable and configure auto-uploads later (upload to unlimited storage for photos and videos, data networks) in the app settings.
Enable auto-uploads
To auto-upload your photos and videos to the Camera folder:
- Open settings.
- Tap Auto upload.
- Enable the Auto-upload photos and Auto-upload videos options.
For more information about this auto-upload method, see Auto-uploads to the Camera folder.
Upload to unlimited storage
Note
Available only with Yandex 360 plans.
If you don't want your uploaded photos and videos to take up space on Yandex Disk, enable upload to unlimited storage.
-
Open settings.
-
Tap Auto upload.
-
Enable Upload to unlimited storage for photos and videos.
For more information about this auto-upload method, see Auto-uploads to the Camera folder.
Enable auto-upload in the background
By default, auto-uploads work only when the Yandex Disk app is running. To enable photos and videos to upload in the background, allow the app permanent access to your location:
- Open settings.
- Click Auto-upload.
- In General, enable Auto-upload in the background and tap Continue.
- When prompted Enable access to your location for Yandex Disk?, select While in use.
- Open the device settings and go to Yandex Disk → Location.
- In Access location, select Always.
If you don't allow the app permanent access in the device settings, a pop-up will appear on your device in 8 hours: Allow access to your location for Yandex Disk even when you're not using it? Select Change to "Always allow". You'll see the same location access request again in 3, 7, and 14 days after you give it permanent access.
Choose an account for auto-uploads.
If you have more than one account in the app, you can choose which one to use for auto-uploads:
-
Open settings.
-
Tap Auto upload.
-
In Account for auto-upload, tap
next to its name.
-
Select the required account from the list.
-
To confirm your choice, tap Change.
Learn how to add multiple accounts to the app in Add account.
Note
There can be only one account for auto-uploads. All your phone's photos will automatically upload to it, even if you're using a different account in the app.
Choose the network for auto-uploads
-
Open settings.
-
Tap Auto upload.
-
In General, choose the network for photos and video auto-uploads:
- Turn off Over any network if you want to auto-upload files only over Wi-Fi.
- Turn on Over any network if you want to auto-upload files over both Wi-Fi and mobile data.
