Share files and folders

If the file you share violates the Yandex Disk Terms of Use (Clause 4.3), it may be blocked.

How to share

  1. Upload a file or folder to Yandex Disk. How to do this

  2. Generate links or select original files using one of these methods:

    1. Swipe the row with the object right or left and tap Share.
    2. Tap Share links if you want to send links to these files on Yandex Disk, or Share files if you want to send the original files.

    If you select multiple photos or videos, you can quickly create an album and share its link. The files you chose will be in the album on Yandex Disk.

    1. Swipe the row with the object right or left and tap Share.
    2. Tap Share album if you want to send the link to these photos and videos on Yandex Disk, or Share files if you want to send the original files.

  3. Tap Share and choose how you want to share it: by email, in a messaging app, via Bluetooth, or other method.

You can find all files and folders that you've shared with others on the Shared access page in the web version of Yandex Disk.

If you set an expiration date for your link, the link will become invalid after the specified period. After that, users won't be able to access the file until you share it again.

If you share the same file or folder again, Yandex Disk will generate a new link for it. But if you receive a link to an already shared file, it remains the same.

You can edit or remove the expiration date. When you remove the expiration date, your link becomes permanent.

If you don't set an expiration date, the link to the file or folder will continue to work until you revoke access. How to restrict access to a link

Configuring shared access to a folder

You can't configure shared access to a folder in the mobile app yet. You can only share a link to a file or folder.

You can configure shared access to a folder in the Yandex Disk web interface from the desktop browser. See Share a folder for instructions.

You can't create a shared family folder in the mobile app. To create a family folder, use the desktop application or web version of Yandex Disk. How to create family folders in Yandex Disk

  1. Tap the profile picture in the top left corner.
  2. Select Help and supportSupport.
  3. Specify the subject of your request.
  4. Describe the problem in as much detail as possible.

To report mobile app issues, please do this from within the app, not from the Help section. This will help us get your request to the right support agents, and you'll get a quicker response. When you report a problem through the app, we can also see technical information that helps resolve the issue.
