Enable and configure auto-uploads

The first time you open the app, it will automatically ask if you want to turn on auto-uploads for your photos and videos. The files will only upload when you're connected to Wi-Fi. You can skip this step to enable and configure auto-uploads later (upload to unlimited storage for photos and videos, account, data networks, source folders) in the app settings.

Enable auto-uploads

To auto-upload your photos and videos to the Camera folder:

  1. Open settings.
  2. Tap Auto upload.
  3. Enable the Auto-upload photos and Auto-upload videos options.

For more information about this auto-upload method, see Auto-uploads to the Camera folder.

Choose the network for auto-uploads

  1. Open settings.

  2. Tap Auto upload.

  3. In General, choose the network for photos and video auto-uploads:

    • Turn on Upload over mobile data if you want to auto-upload files over both Wi-Fi and mobile data.

    Alert

    Mobile data charges may apply.

Select device folders to upload from

  1. Open settings.

  2. Tap Auto upload.

  3. In General, tap Folders on your phone (or Folders on your tablet).

  4. Select the folders from which you want to auto-upload photos and videos to Yandex Disk.

Alert

You can only enable or disable auto-uploads for these folders: Pictures, Images, Videos, and DCIM\Screenshots. Photos and videos from the Camera and DCIM folders (except for DCIM\Screenshots) always upload to Yandex Disk.

How do I know which photos are already on Yandex Disk?

You can tell photos apart by the icons in their bottom right corner:

  • [no icon] — the photo was uploaded to Yandex Disk manually or automatically.
  • — the photo was automatically uploaded to Yandex Disk from your device.
  • — the photo hasn't been uploaded to Yandex Disk and is stored only on your device because auto-uploads are disabled or paused. This icon marks photos that were once automatically uploaded to Yandex Disk but were then removed from Photos.
