Auto-upload methods

The Yandex Disk mobile app supports two auto-upload methods for photos and videos: upload to unlimited storage and auto-upload to the Camera folder. No matter which way you choose to upload, you can do all the same things with your photos and videos as with your other files: you can view them, download them, and share them with your friends and colleagues.

Upload to unlimited storage

Note

Available only with Yandex 360 and Yandex 360 for Business plans.

Once uploaded to unlimited storage, your files appear in Photos and Feed. However, RAW photos in DNG format are an exception: they upload to the Camera folder.

Photos and videos uploaded to unlimited storage won't sync with your computer until you move them to some folder on Yandex Disk. Once you copy, edit, or delete files from unlimited storage, they'll start using up space on Yandex Disk. How syncing works

How do I delete photos and videos from unlimited storage?

Choose how you want to delete your photos and videos:

In the mobile app
  1. Go to the section with photos and videos and tap Photos at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select the photos and videos that you want to delete and tap Delete at the bottom of the screen.

Photos and videos deleted from Yandex Disk are stored in the Trash for 30 days. After that, they'll be automatically deleted from the server. Once deleted from the server, these files can't be restored.

In the desktop browser
  1. Go to the section with photos and videos and click Photos in the left panel.
  2. Select the photos and videos that you want to delete and click Delete on the top panel or in the context menu.

Photos and videos deleted from Yandex Disk are stored in the Trash for 30 days. After that, they'll be automatically deleted from the server. Once deleted from the server, these files can't be restored.

How do I make sure that my photos and videos upload to unlimited storage?
  1. Make sure that auto-uploads are enabled in the Yandex Disk app settings.
  2. Take a few pictures with your phone
  3. Check if they've auto-uploaded to Yandex Disk.
  4. Make sure these photos appear in the Photos section, not the Camera folder.

Go to the mobile app settings and make sure that Upload to unlimited storage is enabled under Auto upload.

Auto-uploads to the Camera folder

Your photos and videos will upload to the Camera folder that's created automatically. You can view them in the same folder or in Photos and Feed.

The Camera folder can't be modified. If you rename, delete, or move the Camera folder, a new folder with the same name will be created in its place and all your photos and videos will be uploaded there. You can move them to any other folder on Yandex Disk later — they won't be uploaded again.

Photos and videos automatically saved to the Camera folder take up space on Yandex Disk.
