Sharing a calendar

Shared access to a calendar

You can allow your contacts from the address book to access your calendar. Upon gaining access, they will see your calendar in their own Yandex Calendar.

Changes that you make in this calendar (such as creating or editing an event) will be visible to all participants.

Full access to a calendar will allow participants to edit your event or create new ones. That way you can use the same calendar together.

Shared access settings

  1. Hover your mouse over the calendar name in the left-hand panel and click .

  2. In the Access section, start typing the name or email address in the Grant access rights field and Yandex Calendar will show suggestions from your contacts.

  3. Select access rights:

    • View open events: This option allows the user to see only public events (those with the Participants option disabled).
    • View all events: This option allows the user to see all events (both public and private).
    • View all and create new events — Permission to view all events (both public and private) and create new ones.
    • Edit calendar contents: This option lets the user view, create, and edit any event.

    Note

The notification settings of the calendar you're sharing aren't applied to accounts of the invited users.

  4. Save your changes.

Getting shared access

The user that you shared your calendar with will receive an invitation email. It will be sent to the address specified in their notification settings. To gain access to the calendar, this user needs to follow the Accept link from the email.

Calendar address

To share a calendar:

  1. Hover your mouse over the calendar name in the left-hand panel and click .
  2. Go to the Access tab.
  3. Copy the information from the Public link field.

If you've set the visibility of some events in your calendar to Participants, only their participants can see them. If you want to share all your events, copy the link from the Secret URL field.

When the calendar is private, events created by the calendar owner won't be visible to other users. If the calendar owner was invited to an event, that event remains fully visible to all users even if the calendar itself is private.

Exporting events to another calendar

You can export events from Yandex Calendar and import them to a calendar embedded on another website or share events from your calendar with others by sending them a file or a link.

Events can be exported in iCal, HTML, or CalDAV format. Only the calendar owner can use the links in iCal and HTML formats for export. CalDAV is the only link format available to other users.

1. Hover your mouse over the calendar name in the left-hand panel and click .

2. Go to the Export tab.

3. Select an export format.

4. Copy the link from the corresponding field and import it to another calendar.

Note

If you selected iCal as your export method, you can open the link in a new tab and save the calendar as an ICS file.
