Shared disks
Shared disks are special folders where you can store files, edit them together with your colleagues, and search for the information you need.
Only users who were granted access by the organization administrator can use shared disks. Only the administrator can create and delete shared disks, empty the Trash, and configure access.
You can manage files on the shared disk depending on the access level granted by the organization administrator.
Please note that shared disks are available only in the web version of Yandex Disk at disk.yandex.com. You won't be able to access them from the desktop or mobile app.
Actions with shared disks
To access shared disks, on the left panel, click Shared access → Shared disks.
Other actions with the list of shared disks are available only to the organization administrator in Yandex 360 for Business. To learn more, see Shared disks.
Alert
In the Shared disks section, you can't search for files and folders. To find a file or folder on a shared disk, first select the disk.
Actions with files on a shared disk
To view files on a shared disk, go to Shared access → Shared disks and select the disk you need.
Inside the shared disk, you can perform all actions with files and folders just as you would on your personal Yandex Disk:
- Search for files (by name, content, extension, or properties).
- Change the sorting options and display of files and folders.
- View user activity (you can filter events by type and folders) and the version history on Yandex Disk.
- For the View access level: view, download, and copy files.
- For the Edit access level:
- view, edit, upload, move, and delete files.
- Copy files and folders.
- Create files and folders.
Restrictions within shared disks
- The depth of nesting on a shared disk is 255 levels.
- The number of files and folders at one level of nesting shouldn't exceed 500,000.
- No more than 1000 documents can be edited on the shared disk at the same time.
- There are no shared folders, photos, albums, archives, or other system folders (such as email attachments).
On a shared disk, you can't:
- Create a link and share a file.
- Add to favorites
- Set up folder access
- Empty the Trash (available to your organization's administrator)
Download a large folder
When using a browser, you can only download folders of up to 5 GB with less than 500 files from a shared disk. If the folder is larger, download the files one by one.
Not enough space on personal Yandex Disk
- If access to your personal Yandex Disk is restricted, you'll still be able to access the shared disk and can use it as usual.
- If access to your Yandex Disk is completely blocked, you won't be able to access the shared disk.
You can create a maximum of 255 consecutively nested folders, where the first folder is placed inside the second, the second inside the third, and so on.
