You can manage your Yandex Disk and see how much free space is left. An organization administrator can purchase additional space for employees.
How can I see how much space is left on my Yandex Disk?
To view the total Yandex Disk space and the amount of space used, check the indicator in the bottom left corner of the Yandex Disk window:
The organization administrator can view the amount of free space on any employee's Yandex Disk. For more details, see Help for Yandex 360 for Business.
How do I get more space on Yandex Disk?
An organization administrator can purchase additional Yandex Disk space for employees. For more details, see Help for Yandex 360 for Business.
What happens if I run out of space on Yandex Disk?
When there's no more space on your Yandex Disk, access to Yandex Disk is restricted. If you don't take any action, Yandex Disk will be blocked after 44 days, and after 90 more days, all files on Yandex Disk will be permanently deleted.
Access restriction
When there's no more space on your Yandex Disk, you can't:
- Upload new files
- Share files and create shared folders
- Open files shared earlier via public links
- Efficiently work with the files you've uploaded earlier.
To lift the restrictions, ask your organization's administrator to purchase additional space. You can also delete the files you no longer need and empty the Trash (files in the Trash also take up space). If necessary, download the files to your computer before deleting them.
Alert
If you don't lift the restrictions, your access to Yandex Disk will be blocked after 44 days.
Yandex Disk block
When Yandex Disk is blocked, you can't access it.
To unlock Yandex Disk and regain full access:
-
Ask your company admin to purchase more space. Yandex Disk will be unblocked within a few minutes.
-
If you don't want to upgrade your plan, please free up some space.
- Contact support. Specify the blocked account username in the email.
- Expect a reply email: we'll temporarily unblock Yandex Disk.
- Once your Yandex Disk is unblocked, delete the files you no longer need or empty the Trash (items in the Trash take up space, too). If necessary, download the files to your computer before deleting them.
Alert
If you don't regain access to Yandex Disk within 6 months, all your files will be permanently deleted.
I've run out of space on Yandex Disk. Why?
You filled all the available Yandex Disk space with data
- If your files have completely filled up your Yandex Disk, there are several ways to buy additional space.
Your organization switched to a lower-tier plan
- As a result, each employee now has less Yandex Disk space. Contact your administrator.
The organization administrator has reduced the amount of paid space on your Yandex Disk or disabled it
- Contact your administrator.
I see the message “No more space on your Disk”, but there is still a lot of free space
You can sometimes see this message in Yandex Disk. Additionally, the actual space taken up by files on Yandex Disk may be less than the occupied space shown by the indicator (in the bottom left corner of the Yandex Disk page). This is because the files you moved to the Trash on the Yandex Disk page or deleted in Yandex Disk for desktop still take up space on your Yandex Disk. They will be automatically deleted in 30 days. If you're running out of space, empty the Trash in advance.
It can also happen if you use different accounts in the browser and in the Yandex Disk desktop application. Make sure that the account you're using in the browser is the same account you're using in the Yandex Disk desktop application.
Monthly file upload limit
The amount of data you can upload to Yandex Disk is limited to a maximum of twice the storage capacity of your current plan. For example, with a Yandex Disk capacity of 1 TB, you can upload a maximum of 2 TB per month if you occasionally free up space on your Yandex Disk.
If you reach your monthly limit within 30 days of your first upload, your Yandex Disk actions will be limited for the rest of the period: you will only be able to view and download files. After 30 days from your first upload, the limit will be reset and you'll be able to upload files to Yandex Disk again. To increase your monthly limit, ask the organization administrator to purchase additional space. The more space you have on Yandex Disk, the higher your monthly limit.
For example, if you started uploading files on July 1, then the period during which all your uploads will be totaled will last until July 30. If you reach the limit on July 5, the restrictions will be in effect from July 5 to July 30, inclusive. On July 31, the limit will be reset, all restrictions will be lifted, and the next period will begin. The period will be reset even if you don't reach the upload limit in July.
Yandex Disk space FAQ
No access to Yandex Disk. I can't log in to the mobile app.
Your access may be blocked if your files exceed your plan's capacity. For example, your Yandex Disk capacity is 1 TB, but your files occupy 1.1 TB of space. To lift the restrictions, you can ask your organization's administrator to purchase additional space, or delete some files.
To delete files, fill out the feedback form: your Yandex Disk will be automatically unblocked for a certain period.
Note
Files deleted from Yandex Disk end up in the Trash and still take up space on your Yandex Disk. To free the space, clean the Trash. Photos and videos that were uploaded to unlimited storage don't occupy space on Yandex Disk, so there's no need to delete them.
For more details on access restrictions, see What happens if I run out of space on Yandex Disk?
I can't upload a file to Yandex Disk. The message "File upload is currently unavailable. You can only view and download files" appears.
You've exceeded the limit, so file uploads are temporarily restricted. The amount of data you can upload to Yandex Disk is limited to a maximum of twice the storage capacity of your current plan. For example, with a Yandex Disk capacity of 1 TB, you can upload a maximum of 2 TB if you occasionally free up space on Yandex Disk.
The limit is used up even if you upload files to folders owned by others. This is necessary to ensure that other Yandex Disk users are not prevented from uploading files.
The limit resets 30 days after the first upload.
To increase your monthly limit and get more space on Yandex Disk, ask your organization's administrator to purchase additional space.
For more details on the limit, see Monthly file upload limit.
