Alternate email addresses

All the addresses you've added can be found on the Email addresses page, along with the following:

  • Your email aliases (addresses using your username on all Yandex domains are linked to you when you register). Email aliases can't be deleted. For more information about email aliases, see Yandex Mail Help.

  • Addresses using your phone number (if you use a phone number as a username).

Alternate email addresses help you restore access to your account. If you forget your password, enter a confirmed email, and we'll send you instructions. Yandex also uses alternate addresses to send notifications about suspicious activity on your account, phone number changes, and other important events.

Note. You might find it more convenient and reliable to restore access using a confirmed phone number.

How to add an email address

  1. Go to the Security tab.

  2. In the Recovery methods section, click Add a recovery email.

  3. Enter the email address and click Done.

Yandex will send a confirmation code to this address.

If you have logging in with a one-time password enabled for your account, Yandex will also ask you to enter a one-time password from the Yandex Key app.

  4. Open the email and click the link or copy the code and paste it into the Enter the code from the message field.

The code is valid for three hours. If you close the page where you were supposed to enter the confirmation code, go back to the Security tab, click on the unconfirmed address and then Confirm.

How to delete an email address

In the Recovery methods section on the Security tab, choose the email address you want to delete and click .
