Oh my God, this museum, which was built for a great leader like Amir Timur, turned out to be a huge disappointment for me.
Unfortunately, there’s almost nothing in the museum. Many artifacts are missing. They’ve either put up poor replicas or faded photographs in their place.
You won’t find any proper artifacts, and even if you do, there’s no explanation or description provided for them in the museum.
As for the entrance fee, forget 50,000 sum—even 5,000 sum is too much for what’s offered here.
I sincerely hope the Uzbek government takes better care of these historical treasures soon and demonstrates a more professional approach to museum curation.
For now, I definitely think this place is not worth your time.
No clear guidance of where to start the walk through the exhibition. I would have preferred a normal audio guide over the new AR app. Museum can be crowded and loud on weekends.
Museum at center of Tashkent City. must visit if you are at here at city. Generally the full museum takes 2 hours to complete. Soms 25000 is charged for foreigners that's roughly USD 2 :))
The building of the state museum in the capital of Uzbekistan looks very beautiful, in an Asian style, all with a dome and beautiful patterns. The interior of the building is spacious, there are large elegant stairs that take you up to all three floors, since the building is made in the shape of a circle, the movement inside the museum itself is carried out in a circle on all three floors, you can walk in circles indefinitely.…
I gave three stars because I was not impressed by the contents of the museum at all, for the metropolitan museum there are very few exhibits and artifacts, and they are not diluted with original things. The originals are all over the world, anywhere but on historical land, it's sad.
I would like to add that, in general, museums are everywhere in Uzbekistan, where I had to visit everywhere very sparsely, but after all, the territory of Uzbekistan was inhabited for more than a few hundred years before our era and there should have been something to see from the distant past.
The Museum of Timurid History (also known as the State Museum of Temurid History) is one of the most popular museums in Tashkent, dedicated to the era of the rule of Amir Timur and his descendants. The museum is located in the city center, near Amir Timur Square, and is an important cultural and historical site of Uzbekistan.
The main features of the museum:
1. Architecture:
• The museum building is made in a traditional oriental style with a beautiful blue dome, which symbolizes the connection with the architectural traditions of the Timurid era.
• The interior is decorated with mosaics, carvings, stained glass windows and gold ornaments, which emphasizes the grandeur and wealth of the era.
2. Exposure:
• The museum's collection includes more than 3,000 exhibits related to the Timurid era (14th–15th centuries).
• There are manuscripts, miniatures, coins, jewelry, weapons, ceramics and other artifacts illustrating the cultural heritage of that time.
A special place is occupied by models of architectural monuments, such as madrassas and mausoleums, built by Amir Timur and his descendants.
3. Historical value:
• The museum tells about the era of Amir Timur (Tamerlane), one of the greatest commanders and founders of the Timurid Empire, as well as his contribution to the development of science, culture and architecture.
• Special attention is paid to the legacy of his grandson, Ulugbek, who was an outstanding astronomer and scientist.
4. Tourist significance:
• The museum is a popular destination among tourists, students and researchers interested in the history of the region.
• There is a beautiful park around the museum, which makes visiting even more enjoyable.
It was very interesting to visit this museum and touch the history of the Uzbek people.
The museum building is built in the national style. Inside it is spacious and decorated with paintings, frescoes and gold leaf.
A copy of the ancient Quran is kept in the very center of the hall. It is clear that modern people respect their religion.
Although there are many religions on earth, GOD is one for all people.
"God, who created the world and all that is in it, as Lord of heaven and earth ... caused all nations to descend from one man and inhabit the earth..." (Acts 17:24,26)
The museum itself is beautiful and spacious, but there are very few exhibits.
It is mandatory to visit for general development, but only with a guide.
I would like to express my gratitude to the guide Kairat, it is very interesting and informative, with a subtle sense of humor. The children liked it, they were interested.
I recommend it!!!👍🏻👏🏻
A beautiful museum, built in 1996 .
There are many exhibits and paintings to explore the place and period of Amir Timur's reign.
It's especially interesting with a guide! Bright and not too long !
It is worth visiting to understand Tashkent . Their attitude to history deserves respect!
A modern luxury museum. Everything is very beautiful and accessible. Frequent guided tours in Russian, beautiful models of buildings associated with the Timurids. I recommend everyone to visit this museum.
The museum is in the very center, be sure to take a tour, the exposition is not large, without a guide it is not interesting and not clear. The building itself is very beautiful, the chandelier is just chic!
I liked visiting the museum. It is a very beautiful building both outside and inside. There are enough historical artifacts. You feel clean and cozy in the museum. It's great that there are guides (in different languages) who will conduct a sightseeing tour (fee at your request). The ticket cost 25 ts. , there is a wardrobe and a clean toilet, a souvenir crush. There is no cafe, but it would be possible to have tea. One of the most interesting museums in Tashkent. The entrance is not central (do not go up the stairs), but from below there is a door (under the main entrance) without a sign.
This is a place where you can better understand the history and legacy of the commander. The architecture of the building is impressive and immediately attracts attention. Inside the museum are manuscripts, weapons, jewelry, etc. There is a guide who will tell you in detail about the life of Amir Temur and his descendants.
An excellent museum in Tashkent. We took a guided tour. She told me with great interest. There are many different exhibits. Yes, there are those that have survived since the reign of the Timurids. In general, I liked everything. I recommend you to visit, you will not regret it.
A very interesting museum if you take a guided tour. They are held all the time, just go inside with tickets and they will come up to you and ask about the tour. We paid the guide at our discretion. We really enjoyed it! Such an expressive story:)) with a lot of details, clearly, with humor:)) was conducted by a young man, a researcher at the Institute for the Study of Timur (yes, there is such an institute in Uzbekistan), PhD. Thank him very much!
A very beautiful building and a lush interior. But the exposure is very weak and secondary. The design of the museum itself leaves more impression than its content. It is clear that the museum is young and promotes the image of Timur rather than telling a lot about him, his dynasty and time.
The museum is about nothing. It is not informative, shabby, empty. All exhibits are copies. The originals are in the Hermitage and abroad.
The exhibits are scattered, for the most part some rings and modern unpretentious paintings that do not represent artistic value. If you really want to know the story, read articles or books. The museum will not help you with this.
The toilet is smelly and dirty, of the 4 toilets, only one has paper and a toilet seat rewound with tape. A very dubious place
Without a guide, it will be just empty halls with small storefronts for you, I recommend only with a guided tour - it's inexpensive, it takes 30 minutes - it's not boring, it's clear and it's better to understand why Uzbeks honor Tamerlane so much.
If you are not a resident of Uzbekistan, it will be clearer to you.
I advise everyone to visit this place. In short, this is a piece of Samarkand!
You will learn a lot about the great commander. Who was Amir Temur, how he ruled the state, about his book, about the borders of his state, his heirs, this is the minimum information that you can find out here.
Dear tourists and residents of Uzbekistan, visit this museum and you will not regret it. It's beautiful here
A great museum, I advise you to book with a guided tour. It is a pity that many of the exhibits are copies kept in other museums. But there are also originals. There are gifts from presidents of other countries. The museum is made in the form of a palace.
A wonderful museum, for those who have not been, one chandelier, which is worth it, immediately inspires visitors, and the ornament and patterns complement the whole museum. And the entrance is not expensive, there are interesting exhibits. I advise you to visit.
A great museum, I recommend visiting with a guide. There are visiting guides in the museum, but I recommend that you negotiate the price "on the shore", so that after the tour you don't have to move it, it's a pity that it's not enough, etc. We were satisfied with the visit.
The Timurid Museum is very interesting, as they entered the main hall, they were simply stunned by the beauty. I liked the miniature models of the sights of Uzbekistan, especially the Ulugbek Observatory and the Taj Mahal. We visited the museum without a guide, on our own because there were a lot of people. But we have heard how interesting the guides told us, so next time we will definitely use the services of a guide.
️ ️ Amir Temur Museum-treasure of history and culture! 🇺🇿✨
If you want to know the history of Uzbekistan and valuable information about the Great Commander Amir Temur, the Amir Temur Museum is definitely worth a visit! 🏰 📜 This museum was opened in 1996 and attracts thousands of tourists every year with its majestic architecture and rich exhibits. 🌍👀

P.S. Do not forget to take pictures – the museum interior is very beautiful and impressive! 📸✨
Everyone should know their history and study the exploits of their ancestors. What great scientific discoveries and research our ancestors did without phones and computers. What strong, big and incredibly beautiful madrassas were built without our modern machines.
I really liked the museum, as the guide humorously told me about the history of ruler Amir Temure in a short time. The museum is definitely worth a visit. I recommend
An interesting building and exposition, I recommend taking an excursion in addition to the entrance ticket, plus 50,000 soums per group, pay directly at the ticket office and the guide will tell you everything and guide you through the museum
It is good as an introduction to the history of Uzbekistan. After visiting, I really want to go to Samarkand, where the main historical, archaeological and architectural attractions are concentrated.
A beautiful museum. Free guided tour from a researcher. It was built by the first president of Uzbekistan in 9 months. The museum tells the official story of Amir Timur and his descendants.
We were at the museum today. Yes, the museum is beautiful, there is something to see. But, the guide was about nothing.
It is very sad that our experts cannot at least tell interesting historical facts.
I ask the administration to pay attention to this. Firstly, he stood like a taxi driver who catches passengers from the street, and secondly, in half an hour, he told a blunder, adding inappropriate jokes.
He didn't tell me what was in the other rooms, he didn't even show me. I walked quickly through the main exhibit, ran on to catch tourists 🤦♀️
When asked how much his services cost, he said: how much will you give from the bottom of your heart, like how much is not a pity. THE HORROR! Are we in the market?
After all, this is a state museum, why is such a disgrace allowed?
Where is the administration looking? Why is the guide service not making its way to the checkout?
Teach your guides to talk about the Timurids in a decent, interesting and informative way. Let them not shame the country in front of tourists.
After all, you can collect even more interesting facts about the Timurids, tell them so that at least something is remembered. And not to chatter. Work on the quality, please 🙏
I was very ashamed of you today in front of my friends from Russia. I forgot the name of the guide, a man dressed haphazardly, wearing glasses, came in at about 14:45. 10/25/24g Friday.
They paid 20 thousand , 50 thousand each .
A good young museum. We collected musical instruments, models of art monuments. A lot has been told about Amir Temur and his descendants. The building is new and spacious.
The workers are good: I asked the caretaker a question, and she called the guide. Although it was difficult for them to speak Russian, they tried. Then they offered to download the program (until I got the result, the guide did not leave my side and only then returned to her business).
I liked their version of a visual guide. Well done!
We visited this museum with pleasure - the museum of the history of the Timurids. Of course, we expected larger-scale exhibits, but in fact it seemed to me that there was little interesting on display. The second floor is certainly more interesting and saturated. Most of all, the facts about Mirzo Ulugbek left impressions... In places, the museum itself and around it require restoration. We expect even more interesting and attractive facts, exhibits for this museum. Of course, thanks to the first President Islam Abduganievich Karimov anyway, for being the initiator of the creation of this necessary historical museum.
The architecture, lighting solutions, and courtesy of the staff left only good impressions. I would like the museum's fund to be enriched with new exhibits
