The palace impresses with the beauty of its architecture. A large well-maintained area with beautiful flower beds and trees. Located on the shore of the Bosphorus, you can take very beautiful photos against the background of the gate, to which ships with guests of the sultan or the Sultan himself docked in ancient times. The decoration of the palace is magnificent. It's a pity that photography is forbidden in the palace! By the way, when visiting the palace, audio guides are given out for free (there are in Russian!) - you will learn a lot of interesting facts.
The price is now 1050 liras for all adults, there are no queues, there are few people. The palace certainly impresses with its beauty, and it is not necessary to compare St. Petersburg and Istanbul, different cities, different cultures. The gate to the Bosphorus is a great feature, everyone is photographed 👍 Where the gallery is, you can come up for free and take pictures. The only drawback: the halls are not signed, or rather signed, but few places. I would like some plates with minimal information. We did not take the audio guide, but we noticed that there are very few points for the audio guide.
So that's it)! If you have visited the Hermitage, the Louvre and similar places, then this attraction will not impress inside. The facade is beautiful. The garden is wonderful! Especially the swans inside, and there are a couple of the nicest atmospheric coffee shops nearby in the courtyard. If you decide to take a walk there, don't run!) Slow down. Find a photo point with a carved gate overlooking the Bosphorus. It is beautiful, as is the entire exterior of this building. What was not impressed was that the owner was apparently deceived) there are paintings on the ceilings for modeling ... of course this is a compromise in the global nature of construction, and nevertheless) perhaps you can have fun if there are not many people.
Oh, yes, I personally didn't like the ticket price, especially if you come there with three children ... not loyal at all)
Therefore, St. Petersburg forever
The most beautiful place , which is necessary for the room. The summer residence of the Turkish sultans, built by the Armenian Balyan. The same family built many magnificent buildings in Istanbul, including Chiragan Palace and Ortakey. A huge well-groomed beautiful territory and the palace itself is just a miracle! It's a pity that only 9 photos can be uploaded here. For some reason, you can't take pictures inside. But I took pictures. The ticket is 1050 liras. The payment was made with a GPB Union Pay card.
Walk another two hundred meters along the wall and enter the Museum of Palace Collections, the queues are small here and you can safely buy a shared ticket to the palace and harem without a long queue. In May, the cost was a little more than a thousand lire per person, an audio guide only with a pledge of documents. In general, a terrible option, in my opinion, is to leave your documents. Moreover, the inspection can be carried out without a guide, then go out and read who lived here and so on. In general, after the palaces of Europe, it is modest here, yes, the ceilings and walls are interestingly decorated in the halls, there are many different chairs. Everyone writes about it. Well, plus a beautiful gate and fence, a view of the Bosphorus. Photos at the gate can also be taken on the territory of the museum with paintings, there is a much smaller queue for the view. In general, such an average entertainment, it's better to just walk around the European part.
A beautiful well-maintained palace! I am glad that the history of different stages of the country's life has been so carefully preserved.
A wonderful area around, you can lay an hour for lying on shamans overlooking the Bosphorus and looking at flowers (if desired))))
I was very pleased with the audio guide! A meaningful and interesting narrative. A clear route.
I was pleased with the Aivazovsky Hall in the art gallery 😊
It's a pity that you can't take pictures inside the palace.
Ticket prices are horse-drawn, however, as in all local museums. Set aside a full day in Dolmabakhche: three large buildings, it's physically difficult to get around everything. The Sultan's palace is gorgeous, there are no words, look at the photos on the Internet and you will understand. The art gallery is a must-visit, there are about a dozen paintings by Aivazovsky alone. But you can skip the harem, there are no beautiful concubines there for a long time, and you will see enough chairs and sofas in the main palace.
Dolmabahce Palace (Dolmabahçe sarayı) on the European side of the Bosphorus in Istanbul, in the Besiktas district Dolmabahce Palace is one of the business cards of Istanbul. The openwork building with rich interiors and a well-kept garden in its architectural design resembles the luxurious palaces of European monarchs. Inside the palace itself, shooting is strictly prohibited, and they monitor it very carefully, but I still snatched my couple of shots of luxury
In addition to the magnificent interior decoration of the palace, I want to note the beautiful view of the Bosphorus through the openwork gates, which complements the overall picture of the place like a cherry on the cake. In addition, not far from the crystal pavilion there is a poultry house with important well-fed royal peacocks, where it was also interesting to look.
After bypassing the main palace, follow the park to the end of the building and to the left : There's a Harem there. And in the palace park on the very shore there is a great cafe where I enjoyed a cup of coffee with dessert. If some of the places in Istanbul can still be sacrificed due to limited time, then Dolmabahce Palace is definitely worth a visit!
PS : the cost of visiting the main part of the palace + harem 650 lira (the museum card is not valid here!). Opening hours: from 9:00 to 16:00 (except Mon and Thu). The most convenient time to visit is before lunch. Reserve 3 hours for this place, no less.
Audi guide for free, BE SURE to take it! Deposit: documents, $ 100, or 2000 liras, at the exit you return the Audi guide, you have money / documents. 😁
Gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit. An incredibly beautiful palace, garden and view of the Bosphorus. There was no queue, they passed quickly. You can't take pictures inside, but tourists don't understand this and surreptitiously try to take photos, so the guards are constantly shouting and swearing) you remain completely delighted with the Palace, the place is iconic.
Everyone must visit if you are in Istanbul! Tickets are valid for 7 days, if you don't have time for something, stretch the fun! The museum with the amazing collection of Aivazovsky should definitely be visited and it can be rescheduled for another day as a dessert) audio guides are free with a passport as a deposit, they give a flight at the controllers at the first entrance to the arch. You have to ask, no one advertises them.
The palace impresses with its splendor, it is good that it is maintained and it is still in such an attractive form. Inside it is simply luxurious, it is good that there is an audio guide, including in Russian, But it's a pity that you can't take pictures. There are many preserved rarities and exhibits from the life of the Ottoman Sultans. The territory is well landscaped , in principle there is something to see . advise.
Dolmabakhche Palace (bulk garden) in the Baroque style was built in 1842-1853, the architects were the Armenian family of Balyans, after the fall of the monarchy Kemal Ataturk lived and worked here. The majestic building is located right on the shore of the Bosphorus, where several gates with carved lattices open. The buildings are surrounded by walls on all sides, the front gates are decorated with bas-reliefs and look very large! Tickets are expensive, 650 lire / 1 ticket. The price includes a visit to the main palace and the picture gallery, entrance to the harem is paid separately (+90lir). The interiors are in the Turkish style, luxurious and heavy, but not to compare with the richness of the Hermitage! It is forbidden to take photos and videos, but there is not much to shoot, the palaces of St. Petersburg and the region are much more interesting in terms of architecture, interiors, and art collections. Inside there is a small garden with fountains, there is a cafe. There were no queues, they came on weekdays. Security guards are watching in the hall with Aivazovsky:) so that valuable canvases are not removed!
We have been to this palace twice already. The park is very impressive, beautiful lawns with a huge number of different flowers, trees that delight the eye with a miracle bloom in early March. The palace itself also made a decent impression, the decoration is expensive and rich in Oriental style.
A very beautiful place! The palace has a huge territory, an audio guide is issued at the entrance in many languages, an important addition to the audio guide (take the headphones that come with the old non-usb connector, so that you can connect them and listen freely without using your hands) what is important, and passing through the halls, you can listen to an excursion exactly in one or another hall.
There are many locations where you can take cool photos, there is a cafe on the territory with reasonable prices where you can easily have a snack, next to the cafe there is a small pond where a swan lives. Very beautiful walking lawns, as well as a beautiful view of the Bosphorus. A small addition, it is better to come in the morning, around 10 o'clock, so that you do not get into a large crowd of people and get to take good pictures.
The impression of the visit is only positive.
Great location, beautiful, but everything is very tasteless! As a historical place, I definitely do not recommend visiting it. Since there is nothing to tell about it, except how many tons of gold were spent during construction (we took an audio guide). Tickets are expensive, you can't take pictures (the PSC is constantly monitoring this). The queue for entry and ticket purchase.
The only thing that is interesting is the collection of paintings by I. Aivazovsky.
650 lire!!! Without a map, for tourists. The gate and the view of the Bosphorus are very beautiful! That's all...It's not worth it. The palace itself is modest, except for the "throne room"... it's not worth it next to our palaces (
there's nothing to breathe there!
It's beautiful on the outside, so it's inside. If I had known, I wouldn't have gone. I threw away money, time and effort.
Who will go: there are 2 queues - at the ticket office and at the entrance. It is open until 18:00 on weekends.
The ticket for foreigners is 1150. It's not worth it. Everything looks great on the outside, but it's sad on the inside. It's not worth coming here for the sake of one throne room, and the rest of the rooms look a little dull. There are interesting exhibits in different corners, but it seems that the main part was stolen in dashing times. There are a lot of frankly empty rooms. The harem is generally sad and depressing - some dorms look more interesting. Therefore, they are not allowed to take photos - people will see and will not go. I want to return to the Top Caps, but not here.
If you are in Istanbul, be sure to take the time to walk or drive to this palace. In January 2024, an entrance ticket for a foreigner cost more than 3,000 rubles in Russian rubles - but a visit to the Dolmabahce Palace is certainly worth the money. In terms of beauty and luxury, he will give 1000 points ahead to all the richest palaces in Europe and especially our Fatherland (of which the author of this post has seen not so few). And this is not a merchant's desire to suppress the visitor with an abundance of gold - the palace of the Turkish sultans, built in the middle of the XIX century, shines with elegant architecture, sculptures and paintings, furniture and lamps with hundreds of candles... The visitor of the XXI century will pay tribute to the excellent taste and respect for both the traditions of his people and the best examples of world applied art demonstrated by the Turkish sultans. It is not for nothing that the leader of the Turkish people, Kemal Ataturk, made this palace his residence. The Turks carefully preserve their heritage, keep it in excellent condition and allow numerous tourists from all over the world to join it. Like many things in this amazing country, Dolmabahce is a synergistic interaction of diverse cultures, giving the visitor an excellent opportunity to admire once again what beauty a person can create.
Very beautiful architecture, Instagram view of the strait. The interior of the palace and the number of exhibits are not comparable to the palaces of St. Petersburg. I was impressed by the last room, it is forbidden to take pictures inside
Dolmabahce
- the palace of the Ottoman Sultans. It is included in my personal Top 3 places in Istanbul.
Photo/video shooting is prohibited inside the palace, but this adds even more mystery to it, each hall is beautiful in its own way: painted ceilings, chandeliers, paintings and, my love, stoves lined with light ceramic tiles with patterns and stones. Unlike Topkapi Palace, most rooms of the palace and harem are open.
Next to the palace there is an embankment and a summer cafe, and immediately behind it there is an art gallery, where I received special inspiration from the paintings of Aivazovsky, who came to Istanbul many times, was inspired by him, was friends with the sultans and created in this place.
You can get to the palace by tram T1.
The visit time is 3-5 hours.
The entrance fee is 1050 liras (≈ $ 33)
Super! The palace and grounds are very beautiful. Entrance is paid. Photography is not allowed inside the palace. On the territory you can take beautiful photos against the background of the arch and the sea. There was also an exhibition of paintings. It's going to sound weird, but we found chickens in the backyard. There are also several toilets on site.
A beautiful palace, a very convenient audio guide, you just need to lean against the sign. The palace includes a men's section, a harem and a huge art gallery. A whole hall of Aivazovsky's paintings. Unfortunately, photos are forbidden.
It's just a gigascam, not a landmark. The appearance of the arches is enticing, but as beautiful as the arches are, everything is just as bad inside. For a price 8 times higher than for locals, you can walk through the endlessly boring corridors and admire the stunningly tasteless surroundings. The best thing there is is a collection of European dishes and several decent paintings. Only for a short time these paintings remain, given the conditions in which they are stored. Well, the big hall is nothing like that. But not for 3 thousand rubles. A maximum of 300, during rush hour.
The European-style palace was built by Sultan Abdul-Majid I in 1843-1856
A very beautiful, interesting place. Considering the relatively recent construction of the palace, you can see the original carpets, chandeliers, furniture, dishes that have been preserved.
They offer an audio guide at the entrance to the complex. The pearl of the complex is Aivazovsky's paintings. I recommend you to visit
A gorgeous palace like Versailles is only Turkish, must-visit, take an audio guide! included in the ticket price were in the 24th year, the ticket price increased compared to the 23rd year. But having been there a second time, I did not regret it. The cost of 24 years on a weekday is 1050 liras
I strongly recommend you to visit. It is very beautiful and informative. The price for tourists is much more expensive than for locals. Delicious desserts can be eaten at the on-site cafe.
A beautiful place in Istanbul. The park is pleasant and the view of the strait. Wonderful tourist service. There are toilets and cafes. Inside the palace, too much space is fenced off from the opportunity to view the details of the exhibits. In general, a pleasant visit for the whole day.
A beautiful complex, many exhibits. But very expensive for tourists. The complex will be interesting for those who are interested in the history of Turkey. There is a place to eat in the complex.
A must-visit in Istanbul!
It is very similar to the palaces of the tsars in St. Petersburg, but in an oriental manner. It was very interesting to listen and look at the life history of the Sultans and the Ottoman Empire in general, I learned and saw a lot of new things.
One of the disadvantages is not a cheap ticket, it cost about 100 euros for three people.
Expensive, rich, beautiful. A clear example of abandoning Asia in favor of Europe. Rich decoration, beautiful chandeliers, beautiful garden, promenade. It's really worth a look.
This palace is worth a visit. It is a very beautiful palace both outside and inside. The ticket costs 1025 Turkish lira in May 2024. This price includes a visit to the palace itself, the harem and two more exhibitions. An audio guide is also included in this price. A wonderful place!
In general, it is beautiful of course. Take an audio guide, otherwise it's pointless. Get ready to walk for an hour. There is a place to watch. Gorgeous view of the Bosphorus. And be sure to take a look at the Aivazovsky Gallery there. Tickets cost a lot of money.. About 40 dollars …
A huge palace built in the 19th century by Sultan Abdul-Majid, who wanted to move from the old Topkapi Palace. The influence of European culture is strong, there is little decoration in the halls.
The individual halls and huge chandeliers amaze with their scale. One of the advantages is a free audio guide, although you need to leave a document as a deposit.
Beautiful gate with access to the Bosphorus.
The palace itself looks gorgeous, I recommend it to everyone! The harem looks very pale after the palace. Admission in May 2024 is 1050 liras, audio guide in Russian is free (a deposit for each audio guide is a passport or $ 100).
The disadvantage is that you can't shoot inside. Although everything is being slowly removed until the guards see it.
A great place to visit in Istanbul. We were on a rainy day and spent 3-4 hours there for sure. There is a cafe on site. The queue for cash payment was much smaller than for card payment)
Do not throw away the ticket after entering, it is checked in every location!
There were three locations (one or two more were closed): the palace, the harem and the gallery.
There are signs everywhere that you can't take pictures inside.
A beautiful palace in a beautiful place. The entrance ticket cost 1050 rubles. To inspect it myself and without an audio guide, even to figure it out for myself, I previously read Wikipedia about the history of the palace. In the palace itself, all the splendor is of course in the main halls where luxury and splendor, the facade of the palace is beautiful. I really liked the exposition of both the palace itself and the surrounding area and the views of the Bosphorus from the territory....Wow!
It's very cool here. There are few people in the morning, which is a great pleasure for walking. The audio guide is convenient and switches from room to room by itself
I definitely recommend you to visit, such halls, luxurious decorations, costs 650 lira, 1000 lira - express; the queue is large at the ticket office and entrance, but it passes quickly, the territory is very beautiful, museum visits are immediately included in the price, an audio guide in different languages, tells everything in detail
A beautiful palace! I was glad that there is an audio guide on the deposit of a passport. It's a little cool inside the palace, they don't allow you to take pictures, but you can take a couple of shots surreptitiously) A large area around the castle, museums, we were there for 2 hours for sure)
Of course, this is a wonderful monument of both history and architecture. The guide said the project and the construction were inspired by the Palace of Versailles with an eye to outdo. The symmetrical arrangement of some rooms with a view of the land or the sea (the Bosphorus) is a good find. Beautiful original chandeliers.
In general, I looked at all this splendor, and my soul grieved that the same, for example, Catherine's Palace near St. Petersburg was destroyed and looted during the Second World War, and now it looks richer and more festive, there is a magnificent garden there.
It's a very beautiful place. But it's simple inside, it's not worth $ 50 for admission. The Turkish Louvre. The detour takes 2-3 hours, there is not much territory in the yard, there are boat rentals nearby. Recommend

I've been to Istanbul 3 times and I'd love to go, but it's expensive now! Cheap Turkey remains only in pleasant memories.
I really liked Istanbul. It's enough for me to just sit on the pier, breathe sea water, look at the blue sky, the turquoise water of the Bosphorus and I feel good already! Relax! And shopping, eh))
I visited all the famous locations and places and there are still a lot of things that I would like to see. Although it's already beautiful in Istanbul where you can't get up!
I was at Dolmabahce Palace in November 2021. The Turks knew and know a lot about wealth! Cool!
A delightful palace, starting with the well-groomed territory and ending with the interior decoration. I recommend visiting the art gallery, which is also there.
A senseless waste of money and time!
Just a very big house, furnished with Turkish chic!
There are no excursions in the palace, you will be given a deposit of 100 euros or a passport (sic!) The audio guide is absolutely useless and not informative, because neither the premises nor the exhibits have signs in any language!
You walk for a long time, then suddenly the audio guide informs you that you have passed some of your rare ones. And getting back to her is already a problem.
And the whole story is only about the high cost of the things standing there
Even the harem, about the structure of which it would be interesting to tell, is boring and colorless.
Photos are prohibited
It's a beautiful place. . The ticket costs 1050 per person. A 10-year-old child gets a discount. They paid 3,300 for 3 and one child. The audio guide is free, but the passports are a pledge, the experience is unforgettable!!! I advise you to visit, you will not regret it
