We were with my family in February, the ticket prices are reasonable, the interior is clean, the exhibits are interesting, the caretakers in the halls are very pleasant. Unfortunately, she did not ask for a name, but one of them said that if you put your ear to the cannon, you can hear the hum of military aircraft. And indeed!
She took a great picture of us under the dome, thank you very much!!!
The only drawback is that the museum is not adapted for disabled visitors - there are no ramps, we were with the baby, we had to leave the stroller at the wardrobe and carry the child in our arms. I wish you to correct this nuance, and get better and better 🥰
It is an interesting museum, you can learn the history and culture of Kazakhstan from dinosaurs to the present day. There are a lot of different exhibits, and large stands, but something modern and interactive is missing. There are also small souvenir stalls with handicrafts. Fits well into the atmosphere of the city. It is a very interesting place, and the museum building itself looks beautiful. It's worth a visit!
We really liked the museum! Classic, in the best traditions, the Central State Museum is a solid, with a rich exposition, located in a huge beautiful building, with silence and coolness in the halls, with the smell of history, with carefully preserved and detailed descriptions of exhibits telling about the history of the Kazakh land from the most ancient times, about the history of the formation of the nation, about education and The development of the state is exactly what one of the oldest and largest museums in Central Asia should be. Interesting, informative and diverse expositions - paleontological, archaeological, historical and ethnographic, anthropological, historical, artistic. We took individual excursions in the ethnography hall and in the "golden" hall. In the ethnography hall, the guide gave us an interesting and very informative tour. It is difficult to navigate in this hall without a guide - the hall is large, a huge number of exhibits from various epochs and spheres of life of the Kazakh people. Unfortunately, we do not know the name of our wonderful guide - thank him very much! In addition to the main historical information, he told such a lot of interesting details - about the symbolic meanings of the elements of national patterns, about the deep meaning of national women's jewelry, musical instruments, household items and clothing items, about the sacred meaning of the elements of the yurt, about the types and purpose of carpets and chests, about the peculiarities of the mentality and worldview of the Kazakh people, everything and not list it! In the small "golden" hall, where the stunning beauty and elegance of gold jewelry are stored, the most ancient of which the Kazakh land has preserved since 4-5 centuries BC, there was also a very interesting excursion with such amazing, simply fantastic stories about the circumstances of the discovery of gold treasures!
The museum has a small cafe and a souvenir shop. In front of the entrance to the museum there is a cozy square with rose beds and benches in the shade of trees.
A wonderful place! I definitely recommend you to visit! And I wish the museum development and prosperity!
A small but informative museum. An excellent historical exposition with interesting exhibits. A curious hall about the independence of the republic. There is a wonderful guide for the first hall. There is a buffet with delicious rolls. The Anthropology hall is open on a separate ticket.
On January 31st, students of the 5th grade of Umka leaders schools visited the museum. The tour was very interesting and entertaining. We were able to get a good look at the exhibits , clothes , blades , carpets . It was very exciting , it helped to get to know the story better . It was very interesting there, I will definitely visit this museum again
This is one of the main attractions of our city! Both as an architectural building and as a historical one... You can learn a lot of interesting things by visiting this museum. It will take more than one day... It's beautiful and interesting! Field exhibitions are often held.
I recommend it to both the guests of our city and the residents!
I advise you to visit this museum. Rare expositions are collected there. You plunge into the mysterious atmosphere of the ancient life of the Kazakh people . The tour is conducted by young boys and girls who tell in sufficient detail and interestingly about the history of the Kazakh people. They answer the questions quite patiently.
We liked the museum very much!!!
We ordered an excursion with a guide, who instantly immersed us in history. So competently, intelligibly told about all the subtleties of people's lives. Answered all the questions that arose. Special thanks!!!!
I really liked the museum itself, spent a lot of time in it.
The staff is polite, responsive, attentive. Thank you so much for your work!!!!
It is a very informative, good museum. A great place to learn about the history and culture of Kazakhstan. I was with my family and school-age children, everyone really liked it.
Many thanks for organizing the "Night at the Museum"! The museum is decorated with paintings, in the rooms there are large collections of art objects and fossils from the bowels of our earth! I was very surprised by the room with prehistoric finds from the time of the dinosaurs! Cleanliness and order deserve special respect for the service staff!🔥👍
A nice little museum. A great place to learn about the history and culture of Kazakhstan. The museum is decorated with paintings. I really like this museum, I advise you to visit it.
Visiting this museum for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised by the breadth of the exposition. The museum staff tried to tell about the exhibits. However, in one showcase, along with household items of the last century, for some reason there were bowls of the Kapchagai factory. And in this case, they just couldn't comment
We recently visited the museum, everything is very beautiful, it is clear that the management will improve its appearance every time. But something was still not taken into account.
Since I have vision problems, it was a little uncomfortable. What kind of inconveniences did I encounter in the museum? 1. There is no non-slip tactile marking on any step.
2. There is no railing.
3. The guide is not always audible. It would be great if they made a q-cod that you can scan and read or listen to the information yourself. Many museums around the world practice this, even in the museum named after him. Kasteev has this function.
4. You can also add copies of exhibits that can be touched by people with visual impairment
In the last century, this institution was a frequent visitor to school programs. The main feature of the museum was a pavilion with panaramas, slides of dinosaurs were shown and told about their life. Now this is a window into a story that is not a little important, which is sometimes forgotten how people lived in the last era. Recently we visited this institution and took our children and were guides telling them what they once told us in childhood. There are many museums in Alma-Ata that honor individual stories, and naturally this is a pleasant time for memories and replenishing knowledge.
The museum building is beautiful, but it seems that time has stopped there.Apart from the new Ice screens, there is nothing new.
I wanted a more friendly and involved attitude from the staff.
They hold good craft exhibitions
We were with my sister at the museum at the open day, thank you for providing such an opportunity to visit and see the museum for free, a lot of interesting and informative things, I recommend tourists and students to visit
I didn't like that you have to buy a separate ticket for each hall. Just make a single ticket and everyone will be happy.
If I had known that it would not be so interesting in the anthropological hall, I would not have bought a ticket. I was very upset with this hall.
But I really liked hall 1😍
And probably, if it were a single ticket, it would not be so insulting for the anthropological
I was very impressed with this museum, my colleagues and I, with whom we were on a business trip, settled the museum, ticket prices do not scare, so we boldly took even a personal guide. We visited the halls that tell the story of the formation of the Kazakh people from ancient times to the present. The guide was able to accommodate several millennia in a few hours, made it clear and accessible. I recommend you to visit.
On January 31, Umka leaders school students went to the central museum. We were shown an interesting tour about the history of Kazakhstan. We saw exhibits, national clothes. We learned about the way of life of the ancient Kazakhs. I express my gratitude to our guide for an exciting journey into the world of history.
A lot of Soviet pathos has been preserved, but little is devoted to repression. well, in general, the story is very contradictory. walking through the exposition, you still do not understand the assessment of the Soviet period for Kazakhstan. She's not here. It's a pity, because otherwise the museum is luxurious! although the audio and video stands are either unfinished or already broken
An interesting museum, several expositions. There were not enough excursions (if there are any at all?). In the hall with weapons, they are allowed to take pictures with replicas of ancient Kazakh weapons.
I was very upset. An incredibly beautiful building of architecture. Expectation is reality. There are few halls inside and the exposition is meager. There are very few stands with a description and history, I had to imagine and imagine
The museum impressed with its beauty! The guide talked so interestingly about the history of the country, culture, that I wanted to listen and listen. We successfully got to the concert dedicated to Kazakh-Korean friendship - amazing! I would like to return to this museum again.
The architecture of the building. Dome lighting, themed halls. If you go to the gold of Kazakhstan hall, then definitely take it with an excursion, it is included in the price :)
A very good museum. The Russian language was almost perfect with the guide. We were lucky: we came right away and went on an excursion. There were only two people in the group: my husband and I
The very idea of the museum is 5 points, some things, of course, raise questions, how after almost 30 years of independence, so little space has been allocated to Nursultan Abishevich, Elbasy, despite the controversial figure among the people, this is a huge layer of the country's history, and no matter how people feel about it, history is history. And so by far the best museum in the country, it is recommended for everyone to visit
The museum needs to be modernized. It is necessary to adjust the correct lighting of the exhibits. Update the storefronts. In general, an ordinary representative of Soviet architecture.
The building is good, the exposition is not very good. Everything is the same as before. The content is certainly not bad, but the presentation, alas... I always get upset when I see something like this. In general, a new vision is clearly required for interior design and exposition
The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the oldest and largest museums not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the entire Central Asian region. The museum's stock collections number about 300 thousand items.
A huge, interesting museum, clearly from Soviet times. It's worth going there and understanding how the region lived before these years.
And that the ancestors were of the Caucasian white race, I was generally shocked)
See the photo)
Clean, beautiful and majestic.
A good museum! I really liked the hall about the history of the Kazakhs from the Saks to the present day👍🏼🤝🏼 The children were happy with the trip to the museum)
Interesting expositions, the building needs repair. We were caught in heavy rain, the roof leaked in many places and water got into the washing halls. Interesting excursions, it's a pity that the ticket office does not offer excursions all over the museum at once, but only in some halls that need to be paid separately. There is a cafe and a souvenir shop (in my opinion, a little outdated souvenirs, many in the dust)
