The natural spring is located in the historical center of the city. The nets stretched along the edges of the gorge make it clear that something may fall. What they say on the Internet: "Legvtakhevi" is translated from Georgian as "fig gorge" because of the abundance of fig trees that grew here. In the 20th century, especially during the Soviet period, the river was hidden in a sewer, and the canyon itself was covered with earth and paved over, setting up a parking lot in its place. In 2012, a complete reconstruction took place: historical justice was restored, the river was returned to the surface, and the gorge was turned into a modern walking area with wooden bridges, benches, and evening lighting. The waterfall is 22 meters high.

A small waterfall at the end of the Fig Gorge. In general, it is amazing to find such an unusual natural object in the city center. The gorge has been improved: avalanche nets are everywhere, paths and bridges are equipped. Nice to take a walk. The balconies of the houses hang right over the precipice - it's beautiful. A must-visit. Admission is free.

It's a very pleasant place. In the heat, there is simply salvation - a shady gorge with suspended water. Last year, the catwalks were renovated, and there are benches to sit and contemplate the beauty. You can walk past the baths, or go up/down the spiral staircase. The stairs take you to the wonderful cozy streets. It is especially beautiful in the evening by the light of lanterns.
