Entrance to the Topcaps 1500 lire - general overview + harem. The territory is very beautiful, exhibitions with decorations, dishes, weapons have been made. The views of the Bosphorus from the balconies are charming, the ornaments, tiles, and paintings in the buildings are very beautiful. It is necessary to lay 3-4 hours for inspection. The audio guide is free, all the musical notes are translated into Russian. There are crowds on Saturday and Sunday, you need to go on Monday, he has to work, fewer people. The entrance to the attractions is paid only in lira. Take care of the exchange earlier
The beauty of the East) Ornaments, columns, carvings, garden. Jewelry on weapons, helmets, sultan gloves. Magnificent view of the Bosphorus from the terraces. Victory pavilions and a mysterious harem. With a huge number of rooms, passages, nooks and crannies and, in my opinion, without a single tree. But there are plenty of them in the decorations of the state halls.
Tickets, my friends, we took for 1,500 lira (4,500 re) - the palace itself, the cathedral of Irina, the harem. We took an audio guide (for free). He's not much use, just a couple of sentences. It is not very convenient to use.So we were guided by English inscriptions. I finished reading about the harem on the Internet in the evening))
"The Magnificent Century" is a popular Turkish TV series, filming of historical scenes took place in the palace of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, which is now called Topkapi or cannon Gate. I enjoyed looking at the antique weapons encrusted with precious stones. Orders of the Ottoman Empire and gifts from envoys of other states, including the Russian state. There are 4 courtyards on the territory of the palace park. Each one has unique trees, the age is measured in hundreds of years. When we went to Hagia Sophia the day before, I was very sorry that I did not take the audio guide. And on the way to Topkapi I reminded my wife to buy it. It turned out that there is an audio guide in the Sultan's Palace, but it is very strange. You make the payment, leave your passport as a deposit and receive a small box. She's not wearing headphones. And in one of the pavilions, your Russian audio guide independently changes the language to Serbian. And then - back. It happened several times and not only for me. So I recommend that you think before buying this service. It is better to allocate a whole day to inspect the entire Topkapi. Take into account its huge territory, the queue at the entrance and security checkpoints.
Everyone should visit here!! Everything is steeped in history! Very beautiful, wonderful museums! Be sure to take the audio guide, it's free! The territory is comfortable, there are many toilets, there is a place to sit, relax, have a snack, drink coffee.
A stunning palace and, of course, a grandiose monument of the great era of the Ottoman Empire. This monument of architecture and history will not leave anyone indifferent and will give you a lot of unforgettable impressions, plunging headlong into the atmosphere of the era of the great sultans. If you look at the palace, then this one, the later ones, of course, no longer reflect the identity of the Ottomans and have too Europeanized style.
A beautiful palace!!A storehouse of history and beauty!!!I want to learn more and more about him after watching it!!! I would like another cafe to be set up on the territory, or coffee machines to relax and keep warm! Audio guides need to be checked, there is no information in Russian at some points. You need to attach strings to the audio guides (they are in the form of a mobile phone). to hang it around your neck and not be afraid to drop it!!!
It's a great place, a wonderful museum. We walked with a stroller with a baby - ramps are provided almost everywhere. The ticket price for now (April 2024) is 1500 liras (4500r), of course, it is expensive. The price includes an audio guide in Russian and a visit to the harem. Clean territory. I enjoyed it
A large beautiful palace with a long history, everything pleases the eye, it is clear that many things are well maintained and restored. The best time to visit since the beginning of the opening, there are practically no people and you can admire the beauty without prying eyes, was at the end of November. For such beauty, the price tag is more than humane.
Getting to know another culture always gives you a lot of new experiences and discoveries.
A complex of several buildings with various exhibits,
You can admire the beautiful views of the city and the Bosphorus
It is grandiose, interesting, beautiful and informative. The audio guide was enough for me and I read a little on the Internet. With a huge number of visitors, there was practically no congestion. It is not necessary to put little time into planning a visit. It is better to inspect without haste, because there is a lot.
My father is interesting. Spectacular. A beautiful palace. There are many locations for photos. Beautiful view of the sea. You can take photos everywhere. There are halls with Relics.
a very beautiful and magnificent museum in everything. Here you can really walk from morning to evening. My wife and I came here for two days - sometimes just to the museum, then to the church of Irina, then to the harem, then to the archaeological museum. As a result, there is a sea, even an ocean, of impressions. I'm not talking about all the photos that were taken on the territory of this museum. Crowds of people certainly interfere with a few, but they also wanted to see the whole museum. Be sure to come back next time and take a walk in the museum.
A huge territory with various thematic content.
A mixture of museum expositions and the historical sites themselves.
It is worth looking around carefully - you should not throw a coin "for memory" into the fountain of tears, a twofold memory.
Very atmospheric place! Chic, wealth, beauty and variety of jewelry, decoration, beautiful territory. Interesting expositions and buildings. Everything deserves attention. Only here the ticket price bites 950 Turkish lira, which is about 3,500 rubles.
It's a good big museum, which you have to come to for the opening at 9, because it will be released only by the closing at 17. There are audio guides with collateral, places where you can sit down and relax, toilets.
However, the big disadvantage is the cost of 1,500 lira (≈50$ at the time of writing) for tourists, when the entrance for locals is 250. The evidence of an aggressive pricing policy towards tourists is sad, although it is not something surprising.
A must-visit place when traveling to Istanbul, a very convenient audio guide. The best ones should be planned for the first half of the day, as much earlier, since there are a lot of people from lunch and queues are possible when visiting museums and exhibitions. I recommend it, get a good impression.
A great museum
The Hermitage in miniature
Tickets are expensive - about 3 tons of rubles
Sightseeing tours at the same price
But they are worth it!
It costs about 10 tons of rubles for two to eat well in a restaurant
The entrance for foreign tourists is expensive (1,500 liras per person), but do not spare this money, the palace is very beautiful, you can spend almost the whole day there! There are many expositions, very clean and well maintained, interesting
A wonderful place for walking, half-day excursions for sure! You won't notice how time flies by. The only thing that is not very good is huge queues, at the cash register, on the territory, inside, to go in to see how the sultans lived, you will also have to stand in line. But the place is worth queuing up and visiting!
Everything is old, of course recognizable by the cult series. But up close, of course, it's not as lush as I thought. Original or authentic original buildings, ponds, lawns. I recommend the sultan's summer houses and be sure to take a look at the royal treasury. The size of the jewels is amazing. It is not likely that sultans and their wives or anyone else decorated themselves with all this. Entrance is paid, but I assure you, it's worth seeing and feeling something.
It is simply not possible to visit Istanbul and not visit Topkapi! A very interesting place, there are many museums on the territory, a harem with the sultan's chambers, pavilions ... the view from the balconies and terraces is fascinating!
Let's start writing an HONEST review.
Positive :
-a gorgeous and beautiful historical place!
- Fans of the Magnificent Century series will definitely like the history of these places.
- Clean compared to the city.
-everything is guarded and safe
-free audio guide.
Minuses :
-The audio guide is just an old speakerphone. No headphones, etc.
- IT'S IMPORTANT! Everything closes at 13:00
Be sure to come at 9-10 am! Otherwise, you'll just spend the money. A lot of people were not warned about this and came in after 12 and did not have time to go anywhere. They tried to return the money (I don't know the outcome?)
. You shouldn't take a ticket to St. Irene. There's only one room and the walls are just bare.
Tip: people don't understand how they defend queues. So just go ahead :)
Don't buy a combo ticket to three places. But separately. Audio guide it is better to order a person because the audio is terrible)
Well, you definitely need to come at 9-10 in the morning
A large, beautiful palace with a park. It will be more interesting for fans of the "Magnificent Century" than for those who are not familiar with the topic. The most beautiful pavilions are in the last courtyard, there is a library, a circumcision pavilion, an observation deck over the strait.
It's beautiful, of course, but ticket prices have increased for the third time in a year. And it was also surprising that there were very few utensils and objects of that time in the halls. Basically everything is collected in separate themed halls with clothes, books, dishes and so on.
I dreamed of definitely visiting here, touching at least a little bit of history. And now it has happened! The cost of visiting the palace is 950 Turkish lira, this includes the cost of an audio guide. A visit to the harem is not included in the price. If possible, I advise you to go.
An incredibly beautiful place with its own special atmosphere and a wonderful view of the Bosphorus. Come to the opening (10:00) to enjoy the silence, by 11:00 there are already crowds of tourists here. I bought a single ticket (palace and harem) for 950 lire, but I could do with a ticket for 750 lire, since the harem is certainly beautiful, but it is not obligatory to visit at all. It took about 2.5 hours to walk around the entire complex, during which time I visited all the main objects and almost all the exhibitions.
It's a great place. I recommend visiting it at the very opening - avoid long queues and get the opportunity to walk around an empty landmark. the main influx begins about an hour and a half after the opening
One of the points of the mandatory program in Istanbul. The impressions are good. A gorgeous palace.
We got an idea of the harem system, which is very different from the generally accepted one.
And of course it is touching that ticket prices for foreigners are, to put it mildly, "horse-like".
The first thing that catches your eye... This is the ticket price🎫 They may have confused Switzerland and Turkey in this particular place. The palace itself certainly deserves attention and admiration. In some places, if you dream up, you can get great pleasure from visiting. A place for culture, history, photo and video shooting. But there is always a consumer attitude and a huge number of people. Such places always leave an ambivalent and ambiguous opinion. It is worth visiting once in a lifetime, and the second time... You can buy for money, from the ticket price 🎫, a sea flight to Antalya✈
The price for tourists is overstated by as much as 6(!!!!) the entrance fee is 1500 rubles (about $ 50), while for locals it is only 250 rubles. I have never seen such lawlessness anywhere.
Disgusting and boorish attitude of the staff.
After we passed the ticket turnstiles, one of the three of us lost the ticket. After that, one person was simply not allowed into the harem, although he was included in the price on this ticket. I don't see the logic in this, because we passed the turnstile with a ticket. Obviously, we couldn't go in without paying. The frustration of spending a fairly large amount and such a rude attitude of the staff.
I can notice the palace itself and the territory are beautiful, but the organization, price and attitude of tourists are disgusting. I'm unlikely to go a second time or recommend it to someone.
Entrance to the First Courtyard is free, however, the visit time is limited from 9 to 19 hours and is carried out on all days of the week except Tuesdays. You can only get into the First Courtyard of Topkapi for free. Tickets will be required to see the rest of the palace. The ticket offices are located in the First Courtyard, in its right part. In my opinion, this palace should be left to the last turn, when everyone has already looked around.
The place is stunningly beautiful , tulips are everywhere , a symbol of Turkey . I just want to come and sit quietly in the shade of the trees . I recommend you to visit .
With a ticket price of 5,000 rubles per person, there are catastrophically few exhibits worth paying attention to. We took an audio guide, deciding that it would be enough - it's not. It was interesting to see the harem, the treasure collections, and perhaps everything. A child who was calmly walking around the Hermitage and was interested was howling with boredom. I hope this review will help save someone time and money.
A gorgeous palace where you can walk all day. The audio guide is free, you need to leave documents or $ 100 as a deposit.
It is better to come to the opening itself by 9 am to see the main premises without a crowd of tourists / schoolchildren.
The treasury is very beautiful and has wonderful views of the Bosphorus.
The price is 1500 liras, the visit is worth it. It is better to lay the whole day for a full examination. Do not forget that Tuesday is a day off. The audio guide in Russian is almost useless (there are numbers in the application, but they are not always indicated in the exhibits and vice versa, the exhibits indicate that there is an audio guide, but there is no audio guide), a passport or 1000 bachs is needed for collateral. They didn't regret it.
An interesting large museum in Istanbul. You can see the history of costumes, the treasury, temples, libraries and the Sultan's harem). If you plan to visit, then this place will take half a day for sure.
I recommend buying a ticket yourself at the ticket office, the price is about 4000 rubles, but you can walk around the entire palace on your own, and not gallop with an excursion. There are cafes and benches for recreation on the territory. During the day, we examined everything except the harem-we no longer had enough strength. But it was worth the money and time spent
A must-visit. By the time of 4-5 hours. My son and husband were impressed by the exhibition of weapons, my sister and I liked the harem (I advise you to start with it). After visiting, I wanted to watch the Magnificent Century series.
A museum with a large territory. Each building has its own museum. There are a lot of antiques. I especially liked the museum with jewelry and weapons.
The palace was preserved in the 17th century, so there is no wild mix of styles. I advise you to take a guide or study all the literature about the harem, otherwise there will be no impressions. The audio guide does not help much, it gives a couple of crookedly translated sentences. We took a tour and we really liked it, despite the fact that in the middle of the harem it turned out that Erdogan was coming and we were promptly thrown out)
Very expensive entrance tickets for tourists. In January 2024, the ticket price for 1 person was 1,500 Turkish lira. It is better to choose a day with good weather for a trip to the palace.
