Hello everyone This is a review of the Melia International Varadero Hotel, also known as the Melia Hotel on Yandex Maps. Impressions about the hotel are mixed, as there are pros and cons. I will compare it with the Blau Varadero hotel. 1. Check in at the hotel and get a room. Long queues at the reception desks. Hot. No drinks or luggage assistance were offered, there were no Russian-speaking staff, and no one escorted them to their room. The room itself was issued only closer to 16.00, although we arrived at 11.00, and the website says that check-in starts at 15.00. But they put on bracelets and said we could use the hotel. Wi-Fi access codes are issued only after receiving the number. The quality of the coverage and the Internet speed are poor (it didn't work in the room, it was slow on the beach). Beach towels are in the room and in our case we had to take towels for a deposit of $ 30/piece. In general, the first stage of exploring the hotel turned out to be so-so, we realized that the service was not worth waiting for. Rating 3. 2. The number. We had a regular room with a sea view. It is quite spacious and modern in places. Everything you need is available in the room, including a coffee machine and an iron. But the bathroom has mold on the curtain and no slippers, and no towel for feet. Wildlife (spiders) were also seen. Well, the bathtub, apparently, is acrylic, rather worn out and therefore springs under the weight of a person. The score is for number 4. 3. Food. There are tomatoes in the hotel)). And eggs in all their states for breakfast)). There are often queues. There is delicious coffee, but not in the general restaurant, in the Double Play cafe. Ice cream, children's junk food (French fries, burgers, cheese sticks). There are various a la carte restaurants. In general, the food (by Cuban standards) is good here. The rating is 4+. 4. The territory and the beach. The hotel is big. And very popular. Therefore, there are a lot of people here and there are not enough sun beds for everyone (both by the pool and by the ocean). The territory of the hotel is well maintained, the garbage is cleaned, it is quite clean. The ocean is great, the beach is good, but not perfect. Assessment 4. 5. The contingent of vacationers. There are few Russians. There are many children. 90% of them are Spanish-speaking. 6. Animation and music. There is animation: dancing by the pool, evening performances, activities by the ocean. But I'm really tired of Cuban music. It's the same thing every day, and everywhere the sounds are made. The disco on the 10th floor also has a Spanish repertoire and characteristic Cuban shaking. The entertainment score is 3+. The overall impression of the hotel is 4 -. There was no desire to return here. I wouldn't pay too much for this hotel either. Yes, it seems like a new hotel and the most popular, and the food is more varied, but the service is not good, there are a lot of people, and the ocean is beautiful in other places of Varadero.
