Monument commemorating the 2nd Battle of Rochensalm (Battle of Svenksund), the victory of the Swedish squadron over the Russian squadron of Vice Admiral Prince Karl of Nassau-Siegen in 1790. It was the largest disaster of the Russian fleet, which led to the speedy end of the Russian-Swedish war of 1788-1790 without changing borders. The monument was erected in July 1940 (after the end of the Soviet-Finnish war) by architect Henrik Bruun. The inscription on the pedestal: "In memory of the naval battle of Svensksund, this monument was erected on the day of the 150th anniversary of the battle of 9-7-1940." Another commemorative plaque reads: "In memory of the naval battle of Svensksund on July 9, 1790. June 29, 1990, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden."
