Must-visit. It can be said that the gallery is small. But it's a Gem. It's only for the sake of the Sistine Madonna that I should visit this gallery. The collection is located on 3 floors, the first floor is an antique sculpture, a small Egyptian hall, and two floors are mostly paintings (there are tapestries, some sculptures). On the ground floor there are ticket offices, toilets (admission is free), a wardrobe (it is forbidden to enter the museum in outerwear), storage rooms for 1 euro with a refund (Attention!!! You can only take a tiny handbag slightly larger than a smartphone to the museum), a bookstore - there are publications in Russian. Tickets: comprehensive admission to the gallery and two more Zwinger museums (porcelain cabinet and mathematics), one-day adult 18 euros, child 14 years - 2 euros). There is a cafe on the second floor of the gallery with a beautiful view of the Zwinger courtyard. All the halls have a very reasonable display of paintings, lots of sofas, benches, and you can download a guide in Russian using the Qr code for free (it worked "crookedly").

The art gallery itself is not very large (compared to the Louvre), and many of the works presented by famous artists have been familiar since childhood. An incredible collection of masterpieces, including works by Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt, Vermeer and others. Iconic works: The Sistine Madonna by Raphael, The Girl Reading a Letter at an Open Window by Vermeer, and The Caesar's Denarius by Titian are particularly notable. On the way to the Sistine Madonna. There are comfortable seats in each hall so that you can sit down and carefully examine all the masterpieces displayed in the hall. I recommend visiting the Dresden Art Gallery at least once to enjoy the splendor of artistic craftsmanship presented in the gallery.

If I had to describe the Gallery of Old Masters in one word, it would be "splendor". This is not just a museum, but a place where the pages of an art textbook come to life. Of course, the "heart" of the gallery is the Sistine Madonna by Raphael. The painting, which everyone knows from reproductions, makes a stunning impression in person. The gallery is incredibly rich: masterpieces by Titian, Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck, Durer.. the list can go on indefinitely. Bottom line: The Dresden Gallery is a must-visit for anyone interested in art and history. A trip to Dresden for the sake of this gallery alone is already more than justified.

That's great! But if you are interested in art, you need to plan a visit for the whole day! The gallery is not very large in size, but it is full of interesting paintings, near which you want to linger, consider the details, enjoy the emotions, and not quickly move to the next room. The gallery is open from 10-00 to 18-00, except Mondays. A ticket for an adult costs 14 euros

Perhaps the most famous art gallery in Germany. It is located in the center of Dresden in the Zwinger Palace, which was seriously damaged in 1945 by the barbaric American bombing. It's not as big as the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, but nevertheless, it's a gorgeous collection of paintings. An exceptional collection in terms of quality. The building is equipped with spacious elevators, which ensures accessibility for people with disabilities. The pedantry and practicality of the Germans are amazing. The water closets for visitors are located downstairs, where the ticket offices and the cloakroom are. The passage there is through the turnstile. You need to attach the barcode of the entrance ticket. It works once. But what should art fans do if they need to visit the toilet twice, before visiting the museum and after? Full of achtung.

As the curator of the Dresden Gallery explained, every art museum should have world-famous masterpieces that tourists from all over the world are guaranteed to go to see, thereby allowing galleries to live and develop. In the Old Masters Art Gallery, these are the Sistine Madonna by Raphael, Sleeping Venus by Giorgione, and The Chocolate Maker by Liotard. And, of course, the works of Rembrandt, Rubens, Durer, Titian, Cranach, Correggio, Vermeer, van Eyck and van Dyck, the Caravaggists, the Italian Mannerists, the Little Dutch... Part of the building was under reconstruction in 2018, so not all of the exposition was available to the public. Fortunately, my mother and I saw the main masterpieces. If you have the opportunity to take a tour, do not deny yourself this: to hear the history of paintings as presented by a professional art historian–a museum curator who speaks Russian at a high level – it is very interesting and useful. The group tour lasted an hour, and then we slowly walked through the halls on our own, stopping at the canvases that interested us in order to imbue new impressions from the paintings of old masters and keep the images in memory

The Dresden Art Gallery is one of the world's best collections of high Italian Renaissance artists. After a long renovation, it will open on February 29, 2020. Three halls are open now (but they will close after January 5, 2020).
