Fantasia is a vivid example of how the imagination of Soviet authors worked real miracles! There is not one parent at the monument, but a whole group. The main names are architect Georgy Chakhava and artist Zurab Kapanadze. They created the song in 1975. The cafe can be seen in the cult Soviet film "Love and Pigeons". It was a popular meeting place where ice cream and drinks were sold. It was renovated in 2018. The cafe is still closed, but the Octopus is once again shining with its bright mosaics in all its glory.

In Georgia, this cafe is also known as "Rvapeha", which translates to octopus. Once upon a time, the Batumi campsite, the Metrostroy sanatorium and the Meskheti Hotel were located here, on the site of which the Batumi Hilton Hotel is currently being built. The construction of this facility was carried out for 8 months and the construction work was completed in 1975. After the opening of the Fantasia Cafe, it turned into a popular meeting and recreation place for residents. The building is a structure standing on eight pillars and having eight openings. The structure has the shape of an octopus, on the body of which are depicted the iridescence of the color of the sea wave, the rays of the sun and other colors that are found on the sea. The octopus's tentacles are decorated with marine life, including the symbols of Batumi — dolphins, as well as seahorses, starfish, and fish of various colors. The decoration is made of multicolored mosaic smalt stones. Smalt is a colored opaque (muffled) glass in the form of plates or cubes. Since 2000, the cafe has not functioned and was actually abandoned. This led to a partial destruction of the structure. By the end of 2018, this facility was renovated as part of the construction of the Hilton. Cafe Fantasia can be seen in one of the episodes of the movie "Love and Pigeons". It was also captured in the film "For fans of solving crosswords."
