It is a very strange place. It is an elegy and and a spiritual bow towards one of the poetic icons of Russian literature. My heart was particularly aching as I stared at her son's "corner"... where he, Lev Gumiliov, was allowed to stay in Punins' apartment... What a strange mode of existence, of survival, in this high-ceilings place (absolutely Peterburgian style)... It is not a museum of Anna, it is a pathway into her tormented heart and mind. By the way, after Nikolai Gumiliov's execution, within her next marriages, she called herself his widow...
